A big thanks to all who looked out for the Dog Toobs at their Tescos - the 'plastic Dog Races' went down very well. The track distance was a little over 1m :D

Out in the Deer Park we limited the dog track to 75m up hill - and thank goodness we did as the estate offered Quad Bike failed to turn-up so we had to walk the lure back

More than 200 dogs ran - every thing from Toy Chihuahuas to St Bernards - with some retired Greyhounds and racing Whippets.

We started at 10:30am and finished after 5:15pm with only a small break for the Bird of Prey demo at lunch time.

The prelim count of total money taken for all events exceeded £30,000 and we were happy to be part of this Charity Event, showing what sort of organisation Whippet Racing is.

Offers of more events have been made to us and a return to Suffolk Dog Day 2010 - date still to be agreed.

Every one seemed to go away happy with a few returning for a second (or third) run at the lure

Thanks to all those who helped on the day - rough calculation was that I walked close to the Marathon distance with the lure :clown:

Well done Rob, Philippa & gang! You did a great job & glad I could come and support you for a wee while! All the best Ron. Wasn't Lily a STAR!!!

What happened about the plastic dogs? Did you manage to find any in the end? We looked in 3 different humungous Tesco's but never saw any :( We were beginning to think you were having a laugh with us :D

Yes thanks Judy - we did have 24 plastic dogs at the start - so the races were ok. The idea was that the winning child took as a prize the plastic dog they had won with so the 'stock' numbers reduced by one every time a game was played. I'm now looking for some more dog toobs for next time. This was in the Childrens area along with bouncy castles, etc.

For us 200 plus solo or two dogs running after the 'rabbit' :b

Our local paper is full of it today - figures quoted 6,000 people paid to enter, 500 dogs entered the show, £30,000 to charity

Ragley Hall - will be so much easier - only Whippets Racing!!! :clown:

Congratulations on an excellent job. Looking forwardto Ragley Hall too.
