hi, i wud really like to know wat is best for a bitch that has just came out of season??? does it do harm to their body running them?? or is it that it slows them down?? or both??

i wud really like some advice on this subject please...

Rose :)

dont quote me, but i've heard that a bitches pelvic area etc, all the ligaments are loose from the season, and that strenuous excercise while like this can damage them permanently

Why not post in the racing forum, many people only look there

From what i can remember its best to leave bitches for approx 12 - 13 weeks but when running them it could take another 4 - 5 weeks before they hit some sort of form... dont take my word for it as its been quite a time since i had bitches running... you've also got to take into consideration every bitch is different, what suits 1 may not suit another...

Rose, i cant remember the exact details but i know most people prefer to wait a certain number of weeks before they start racing their bitches when they come out of season...can't remember the exact number though and i know some who clean the bitches out with epsom salts when they are full of milk...maybe Billy Harper will be able to give you more details as he has been very successful with racin bitches over the years.
