I would think most people have heard by now, but if not, it is with sadness that I let you know of the death of Monica Bishop.

Monica had been suffering from cancer, but it was hoped, with treatment, that she would be well enough to have a good quality of life for a few years. Unexpectedly, things took a turn for the worse, and she died last Friday 22nd July.

As you can imagine, John and his family are devastated. He is trying his best to carry out her wishes that he should continue racing her beloved dogs.

It is always easier when everyone knows what has happened, so he won't have to keep telling everyone. So, if you see John at racing, give him a hug - with his friends around him, he will get through this very difficult time.

RIP Monica

Best moment or should I say moments at last Sundays open was when John and Monica's oldies WCRCh Costabob and Evening Star won their respective veteran groups. Monica would have been so proud of them.

im so sorry to here this what a sad loss i send my best to john and family she was a lovely lady and will be sadly missed love jane and the deadly dogs

i am sure the vets done it for monica, that is why john was so thrilled.

she is one lady that will be missed by all in racing.

sleep tight mon, god bless.

I am sure that everyone who knew her will miss her. A lovely lady.

RIP Monica.

Just read this post. Our thoughts are with John and his family at this moment of his great loss.

Monica's funeral was held on Saturday. The church was full to capacity, with standing room only. It was a beautiful service, with 3 people reading moving tributes to Monica. The Order of Service cards had been designed and printed by Monica's daughters, and stated that we were there for a celebration of Monica's life - she would have been so proud. They bore a lovely picture of her on the front, and of course a whippet on the back.

Many of her fellow racing friends attended, and probably half of Hereford too!

There was a cheer for WCRCh Costabob at Gloucester's open today, when he won his group in the veterans. All eyes are on him next week, when he hopefully will win the VC Monica so wanted for him.
