Sad Video - Please Watch And Crosspost

Yeah i came across that a few days ago ive posted it on my site its so sad to think of all the animals whos lives are like that! poor animals they deserve the chance to be happy and live in a family who loves them!

So sad... so many unwanted animals being bred all the time.

:( :( :( Breaks your heart.

Fantastic video to get the message home. Too many animals suffer at peoples hands.

how heartbreaking is that? :( it needs something like this film to bring it home to people that there are literally thousands of dogs and cats needlessly killed all the time.i dont think well see an end to it in my lifetime.why doesnt the government do something about it?surely anything they do to stop all the killing will be supported by the great british public so why not do something?we need new laws in this country to stop all the irresponsible breeding thats going on and all the unwanted animals being produced that didnt ask to be born.as it said in this film, animal ownership should be a revocable priviledge not a right.theres too many animals chasing too few good homes. :(

Totally agree Kris.

If neutering could be made law, it would end this huge problem, but cannot see anything like it ever happening. :( Unfortunately irresponsible owners only become "irresponsible" after their bitch has had pups. :(

such a sad sad film :(

these poor animals do not ask to be born .

its such a shame for them , the innocence of them and the tradgedy of it all.

and again , its all down to humans

its about time something was done , it makes me sick to see animals suffer

what it needs is compulsory insurance and all dogs licensed again if it cost ££s to license and £10.00 to £20.00 per month per dog and tough fines if caught without it would make people think twice before jumping in and buying/breeding

ive always thought that it would be a good idea to make neutering a cheaper way to save money. for example if an entire animals owner had to pay a licence fee of say 200 pounds a year whereas a neautered pets owner didnt have to pay anything then it would both encourage responsible pet ownership and stop all these unwanted litters being bred.it would probably cost money to run a scheme like this but for heavens sake whats the alternative?mountains of dead dogs and cats like the rspca ads that were run at crufts one year and caused outrage?the government needs to step in and take control.its just not fair either to all the rescue and rspca workers who im sure didnt join their organisations to kill dogs.they want to savbe them and find loving forever homes for them.the rspca (which is the only body that prosecutes for cruelty) have had to do this work for too long.they shouldnt have to keep killing peoples dogs cos they cant be bothered looking after them properly and neutering them.the government needs to step in and do something.after all the rest of the world looks to us as the country where we are all animal lovers,so we ought to set an example :(

I think it would encourage more people to have their animals neutered if they were given incentives for doing so.

A lot of people don't neuter because they cannot find the £150 - £200 needed to get a bitch spayed or the £80 or so for a castration. I know people shouldn't take a dog on if they can't afford it but the truth is thousands of people do own dogs and the same people have trouble putting a square meal on the table let alone finding money for vets bills.

A real help would be for the government to subsidise this and put together a neutering programme, for a small fee or even for free, people on low income could get their animals neutered.

Vets could also show themselves in a more benevolent light and give discounted rates for everyone. I know no one likes to work for nothing but we all know vets are having a laugh with us all, their prices are through the roof, they all charge extortinate rates and know they can get away with it because the insurance companies will pay out whatever the cost. Vets don't under cut each other on prices, they look after their own. Have you ever met a poor vet?

I know dedicated vets work very hard but I think they could do so much more in helping with the whole problem of unwanted puppies.

why vets? would you turn up for work for a reduced wage it should be the RSPCA they have been taking money for years why not use it for something of benefit instead of squandering it on fighting blood sports and funding freedom food

I dont think that neutering is the end of this issue - some people would be too lazy to get it done, same as they are too lazy to feed their poor dogs/cats/rabbits. I dont want to neuter my puppy and why should I have to because other people are irresponsible? I will do my best to make sure he doesnt produce an unwanted litter and if he somehow does then i'll find homes for all the offspring if I have to. Some of those poor dogs are starved, beaten, tormented - that's regardless of them being neutered or not, at some point somebody did 'want' them to have them, so it's not just unwanted litters. The bottom line is that some people are just totally dispicable and should not be allowed to keep animals. Pet shops and unscrupulous breeders think it is their right to sell animals for profit to anyone with no concern or come back for their welfare. There should be tighter controls to prevent impulse purchases, and then we need more laws and more resources to enforce them.

I don't want this to turn into a pro/anti neutering argument, I'm sure that's all been done before, but SOMETHING has to happen. The core problem is that we breed far more animals than there are homes for. I don't see how we can magically generate more good homes, so the answer has to be to produce fewer dogs.

It's fine to say that if your dog had pups you would make sure they were all responsibly homed, but each home you find is one less home for another unwanted pup, who may end up being destroyed. :(

And what if each of your dog's pups also has a litter, and each of them has a litter - and so on? 'Just one litter' can be 100 dogs in a few years' time.
