hi,I have heard this week a whippet has lost its life in a tragic incident on mansfield track, apparently the dog was a left hand runner and whilst training ran left and straight into a tree ,.How devistated the owners must be, to incur an injury is bad enough but to lose your dog is heart breaking. Surely we should now consider having netting around the traps and for the 25 yrd distance in front of the traps, would this not help to rectify this problem,i have been told that some of the councils will give this netting free . Some of the clubs already have netting  around the track when a main open is on Kircaldy  is one of these clubs .So come on every one, lets have our tracks safe for our whippets to run on . ???  ???  ???

i agree there needs to be some safety measures

taken to prevent accidents like this happening again

so lets think of the dogs safety first.
