hi,Sasha has had an operation , she has to be caged for 10 days.thank god l have a large cage.then walked on a lead for 5min to 10 min for 28 days, then 4-6 weeks increase the length 10-30 min twice a day.l am interested if anyone has had this type of injury.l have a 4mth old puppyso keeping them apart is going to be fun.thankyou for showing interest in Sasha .Ann

Inca's didn't rupture but she did have an operation on hers.

I didn't have to keep her caged, she was allowed normal movement round the house and was to be kept as quiet as possible, no jumping on the settee or bed and carried up and down stairs...like lady muck she was. (w00t)

The starting of exersize was the same though, to be kept short to begin with and gradually built up by 5 minute per week and done over 12 weeks and then keeping her free running to a short time too for a few weeks once she was allowed to and it was difficult stopping her from wanting to run and jump etc cos she felt ok in herself to do it.

She had the op a couple of years ago and heal really well from it, she trials/races at Maltby with no problems at all and free runs all the time.

Sometimes it clicks and occasionaly she limps if she's laid funny on it but it doesn't cause her any pain or discomfort.

thanks so much for the info, what did she do to hers. nice to here shes ok

The vet thinks it was a weakness she was born with and she had loads of trouble with it and he decided to operate before it ruptured cos it would have been worse for that to happen.

She's 4 this year and you wouldn't think she's had any bother at all.
