well saying as we seem to be talking about the scratch dogs again i thought id bring this topic up. i wud do a poll but unsure how to in here?

right in the scratch racing it nearly always used to be £5 to enter your dog and it was winner takes all. i have noticed recently it is the same as the other dogs £3 or wotever and if there is two heats the heat winner gets paid something too. at old hall mickey whizz won his heat come on sue won overall we were not expecting to get anything at all and were very surprised that someone picked it up 4 us. ok it was just a few quid but we were not expecting anything.

what r your views on this please? should it be winner takes all? or do u think the runner up (heat winner) should receive something too? :blink:

i think that at open meetings in the scrach classes 1st and 2nd should go through to class finals. like at BWRA champs.

Hello Sherry, It is up to those who are organising the event as to what conditions they put on in their racing. If they make it winner take all or heat wins paid or only 90% pay out etc. Then if you fancy that racing you attend, if you dont, then dont go. Myself i would always pay out a heat win in all racing,scratch or handicap.

i think you should pay heat wins at least its something back to help with traveling costs. :cheers:

p.s. ricky i have only ever ran in one scratch race that was in scotland last year,which she won but was not credited with in the results in w/n,i think a dog should run as weighed and SHOULD NOT be allowed to jump up into whatever class suits. :cheers:

Good question sherry All the years ive been whatching (NOT RACING ) no Limits the winner has always took all.But i agree I think heat wins should be paid like anyother weight class its always something towards your expences. Woody
