We've got a beautiful, thick reindeer skin rug from Lapland, but it sheds a ton even if you just so much as look at it :(

Hairs are all over the house

We saw no shedding of the skins we sat on when sleigh riding etc

is there anything I can do to stop it?

I'll have to chuck it out if I can't sort it, my back's broken with all the hoovering (bad enough cleaning after the builders-but that's another story  )

Ella shed's NOTHING in comparison o:)

Can anyone help please ?????????

have you washed it???

not really up to speed on reindeer sorry

Hely you made me laugh !

you don't wash these skins, they can stay outside !

I've just looked on internet and the consensus of opinion is they shed lots, you shake them outside every 2-3 days and if poss you hang them on a wall /over a bannister or on a floor where they won't be walked on !!!!!!!

didn't tell us THAT when we bought it

it's going back in the loft to be kept for when we get a Swiss chalet and I'm ordering a big sheepskin to replace it

just won't look as good tho'

:b

well i did say i wasnt up to speed on them :- "

dont get many reindeer in my neck of the woods :teehee:
