For anyone who isn't familiar with him, Jim Greenwood has many years experience working with lurchers, and applies this knowledge to helping people with rescue sighhounds understand their dogs' behaviour, psychology and working history.

He has recently been working with Greyhound Gap, and comes highly recommended by Lisa as someone who really knows his stuff! 10% of Jim's fees for this session will be donated to GAP.

The workshop will be held at Cricklade Town Hall, Cricklade, nr Swindon starting at 2:00pm. The session will be a talk/demonstration (so for owners only, no dogs) and will last around 2 hours, including plenty of opportunity to ask individual questions.

The price will depend to some extent on the number of people attending, but as a guide will be around £20 per person (this will be confirmed nearer the time).

This is Jim's description of what the session will cover:

Foundation Workshop

This workshop is centred on communication skills and is a very much a demonstration workshop.

It is a general insight in how to give the right messages to your dog and how we as humans can communicate with the dog. The aims are to promote greater understanding of dog ownership, using the universal language that all dogs understand, and putting the owner in control.

The workshop is the first step in understanding how to train your dog in a way that is natural to the dog.

Subjects covered range from Body language, rank structure and training methods.

If anyone is interested in coming along can you please indicated here or PM me, and I will send full details/directions as soon as these are finalised. Spaces will be limited, so responses asap would be appreciated.

I would love to go to something like that but unfortuntly it is to far away for me to come. :(

Wonder if he fancies a trip to Scotland :)

Jim has also been working with LurcherLink and is highly recommended by Kaye.

Well Kaye knows just a thing or two about lurchers herself, so that's a good recommendation :))

Just to say that everyone who wanted a place should now have had an e-mail with the final booking details and directions.

If anyone hasn't received them for any reason please let me know :)
