i've been doing a trawl of some websites. Of course, you will find other nice dogs on these pages besides the featured lurchers. Remember that the ones in pounds may be put to sleep if not rescued shortly.

bluegrey rough coated lurcher DOG ID :0351

http://www.craigavonstraydogs.com/

Lady, pretty white with fawn lurcher pup http://www.newtownabbey.gov.uk/dogs/adoption.asp (council pound)

Collie/Whippet - Four months old, Missie is also good with children over six, very affectionate but a bit boisterous. She just needs time to settle and learn some manners. http://www.assisi.dnet.co.uk/ (co Down)

Vicky is a young lab collie cross [head and ears look very greyhound/lurcher like to me] approx 1 - 2 years old. she is a quiet dog and gets on well with most other dogs. she is friendly and affectionate. she will need some training on a lead but would make an excellent family pet.

that dog, Odin, and Vicky are still for adoption I believe. Have seen a lovely photo of Odin, black with symetrical white blaze and white paws, definite lurcher appearance. Has been fostered so is house-trained, is good with other dogs, no problems.

There are always rescued greyhounds and lurchers, and occasionally whippets advertised at http://www.irishanimals.ie/; many but not all will be found on the subsection: http://www.irishanimals.ie/adoptagreyhound.html

At present, Phoebe at www.kerrygreyhounds.ie is listed on the irishanimals page as being "whippety" (and she definitely looks it in the photo)

Also in the south of Ireland, Longford ISPCA has a smallish looking, smooth coated, black lurcher

http://www.assisi.dnet.co.uk/ in County Down, N Ireland has two 15 mo old male greyhounds

http://www.craigavonstraydogs.com/

currently has a fawn lurcher male who looks smallish,, ID #0440 release date 17 Mar (st Patricks day) and a smooth coated mixed breed predominantly white male who also looks somewhatwhippety in photo, #0419, release date 13 Mar. A number of rottweilers and labradors, a bichon frise, collie crosses, terrier crosses, staffy ... hate to think how many likely to be put to sleep ...
