Ruby has cut her nose and lost the black skin.

She is at a show next week....will it matter?

Any ideas what to put on it? I don't mean to hide it, I mean to help it heal.

Cheers

This happens quite frequently to my dogs and we call it "Racer's Nose". Sometimes, they scrape a little bit of skin off that area on their racing muzzles when they are all digging hard to get the bunny at the end of the race.

I use a product here called Neo-predef powder on it to help it heal--the human version would be called Polysporin Powder and you can get it over the counter here in the USA at the chemists (see? I know my Britspeak--in the US, we call it a drug store).

So, I figure that if you go to Boots or whatever and ask them for a good antibiotic powder with some pain-numbing component, they will have a UK equivalent.

Neo-predef is Neosporin powder, Tetracaine (for pain relief) and isoflurane (for anti-inflammatory). It's da BOMB!

Thanks for your reply, Karen

I have used a black vet powder on small horse wounds. Do you think that might be the same? I'll look up the ingredients or get to Boots as you suggest. I am in the town tomorrow so will try that.

Thanks

Pauline
