Hi just need a bit of advice based on past experience. As you may or may not know i have an 17 year old toller Benji. Just recentley he has started to slather quite abit which he has NEVER done before. we have had a look in his mouth and there is nothing lodged but he does have some very rotten teeth, i was wondering if this might have something to do with it. He also sometimes has trouble swallowing food even though it is mashed up quite alot. however he is in himself ok, still acting like a pup when visitors come round :D but just wondered if any one has had this type of trouble with an older dog before?

It definitely can be caused by teeth problems, but the problem with swallowing can be anything. I would definitely take him to the vets. :luck: :luck: :luck:

if hes an old boy and hes slavering and has trouble eating then he might have tooth trouble ie abscesses etc even if its not that id still take the old boy to the vets to get to the bottom of it before he starts to lose weight or anything.
