Hi

We have a 13week old GSD pup who is brill apart from at night. Have an old Samoyed too who gets on great with new pup but likes a bit of respite so sleeps in another room to [pup. She howls wen we go to bed. Give her pigs ear/chews at night to keep busy and leave music on. It doesnt seem to be gettin any better and we had her two weeks ago!! Any suggestions! Tried walking last thing to tire her out...no luck! Seems OK wen I leave her in the day, but I never have to leave her for long. wees on newspaper at night and if "caught short" during the day, apart from tthat seems house-trained so thats not the issue. Racking my brains coz I'm not a novice owner.

sorry pressed wrong button :b bailey took a while, but we got him a crate and now at bedtime we cant keep him out of it.heeused to scream the house down

I certainly recommend crates, i think they're brilliant. You could then have her in the same room as the other dog, but she won't actually be able to pester the other one if she's in the crate. Don't give in to the screaming, she will stop eventually. If you come down to her, she's won. My Dobermann, Chloe was a pain for a few weeks at night after we got her. It was soooo hard, but we just ignored her when she cried and eventually she got the hang of it. Luckily my Whippets are angels o:) and have never made a peep at night!

:luck:

I agree with having the crate.

I've got Dippy in one on a night and she's great now, it only took a few nights to settle in and stop screaming, she sleeps almost right through only getting up for a wee a couple of times... -_- -_- -_-

Those few nights felt like forever though. (w00t)

Persevere and it will pay off... :D
