Hi To All That Read,

EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED

went to feed Leo (Ibizan Hound) at 5.30pm, when retrieving his rug for his bed, in the middle of the yard (on the Cold cemment) I found a 10" brown snake curled up!!

It is Winter here, and yes we are very mindful of snakes during summer, so i was quiet upset to see a snake on a cold windy day, Leo was fine, obviously not bitten. The snake didn't move, I thought leo had killed it, so i poked it with my finger, well it arched up at me but didn't move ( just got cold and couldn't move) so sorry nature lovers I killed it. I have lost one dog to snake bite (greyhound), not happy when they get into our "snake proofed" yard, yes we do take precautions. Guess because it was so thin it sneeked through. We did have a little sun early afternoon, must have slithered in then.

So to all Whippet friends, be mindfull

Regards

Anne

You are very lucky Ann. I would hate to think how much venom that snake would be carrying at this time of year (w00t)

Thank goodness no harm was done to your family or k9 kids.

The snakes are obviously as confused about global warming as the rest of us and have forgotten to hibernate (w00t)

Was it a Pt. Perie one eyed trouser snake? 8)
