Not wanting to give it the kiss of death but we seem to be having progress with Oreo.

We moved her fully onto Butchers (gravy variety) from chappie a few weeks ago and her itching and biting of her feet seems to have reduced significantly (however we haven't been brave enough yet to leave her without her collar).

So more than ever I am convinced that her issues are cereal/gluten/soy related as butchers has neither.

However, the issue we had was that her poos were impossible to pick up and very runny. Not quite diarreha but close.

So the last week I've started to introduce a dry food into her daily diet. Starting off with a few bits in a treat ball (she loves that) and gradually adding it to her food and reducing her wet while increasing her dry. She doesn't like dry food on it's own so it's a case of finding out what works with her in terms of smells.

We are now at the point where she will eat a kibble meal in the morning with a sprinkle of Yumega plus for dogs (she loves that for some reason) just to wet it.

In the evening she will have kibble with half a of butchers fancy food in that little dish thing mixed in.

The last two days she has had two poos (one morning and one evening about half an hour after food) and both have been normal and easy to pick up.

The added bonus is that she has also stopped biting her feet while we are around. I am going to give it a month before we attempt to remove the collar when were not there.

She is biting the base of her tail a little and still skooting around the floor on her bum so I do think that she needs a vet visit to look at her glands.

But other than that it seems better.

She is drinking a little more now but I guess that'll be because of the dry kibble.

She is on Wainwrights sensitive with turkey and vegitables. It has no wheat, gluten or cereals.

I just hope she continues showing improvements, and maybe we can have a normal dog again or at least a semi normal dog lol

:)

I hope you have found the answer - its very stressful for you all!

I wet our dog's dry food when they have it.. they seem to prefer it like that....

Quite a lot of dogs are intolerant to chicken/turkey in foods so a couple of good elimination diets to try that include no wheat/gluten/cereals/turkey/chicken or general bulking crap that goes in dog food are Burns Pork and Potato or Wafcol Salmon and Potato. The theory is that these foods contain a novel protein source which most dogs have not been exposed to so they are a good way to test whether your dog does have a genuine food intolerance/allergy. They must be strictly fed for 6-8 weeks with no added treats or snacks.

Good news that she is chewing less and pooing normally again!! ;)
