Angie and Mick have asked me to post these words for them

It was with great sadness we had to say goodbye to Sophie (Savernake Kestrel) on Friday 1st October.

14 years old next week, she was getting very frail and we were afraid the other dogs would set upon her when she fell over, a very gutsy dog right to the end.

She retired at the age of 4 due to injury, in 3 years of running she made Superstars and 6 Championship finals, A radical "lefter" she never once had the red box she was always on the right.

No seeding in those days (thanks to Carmel we have it now)

It was NO easy feat to get to the Champs finals.... not like it is today!

Sophie went on to have 3 litters, 1st to RCh Catch The Wind.. producing Happy Days, Savernake Falcon, Half A Trice, Cornish Molly and Hit The Lid.

Next was RCh Tuskan Raider.. producing No Secret, Savernake Special T, Running Spikes, Master Yoda and Wybay Redwing.

Her last litter was to RCh The Bear producing.. Nitro Norri, Racing Spikes, Follow The Bear and The Maginot Line.

Sophie has passed all her guts and determination on to all her babies and now her grandchildren.

I know The Maginot Line really wants a nice wife as he fights out the veteran Champs with Star Of Wonder.

Go chase the bunnies Sophie, I miss you curled up by my feet in bed where you slept for 14 years.

Really sad to hear your news Angie and Mick. She had a lovely life, and gave us a thorn in our sides when she produced her daughter Savernake Falcon - we always dreaded Sweep being drawn with her, as she was so hard to beat. She will live on through her grandchildren, and I'm sure your Falcon baby brings you great happiness. Love to you both xx

She was one of the lucky ones though and lead a happy life with owners who adored her.
