At the grand age of 15 1/2 yrs old, Joey went to sleep after he started to deteriorate with his cancer.

He'd been diagnosed with adenoma's for about a year, but as stubborn as Joey could be, he remained oblivious of his condition and continued his walks on the moss until Monday when he started lagging behind. Those close to us know Joey was always leading and wandering off on his adventures with us chasing after him which is how we'll fondly remember him.

Soapy Joe was the last dog from the 1st generation of Maddison X Homebird lining. He joins his siblings, Riddler, Madson, Evita, Chisum, Casino, Buffalo Bill and the recently departed Son Of A Bitch along with his own son, Jack Seven.

Joey lived amongst a large family, his sister Hobgoblin, his sons True Faith, Smooby, King Bear, Gingerbred and Honolulu. He is also uncle and even grand uncle to some of the gang here. He was a well loved pet and racer to Tony, Michelle, Sam, Maddie and myself.

Whilst it is sad that he is gone, he left a life well lived and lives on through his family. I prefer to think when we go out on the moss he'll still be there running ahead leaving us to chase him.

Rest In Peace Joey

Sorry for your loss. Rest in Peace Joey.

It never gets any easier but its nice when they've lived a long and happy life. Joey enjoyed a successful racing career, umpteen lady friends and was much loved for his 15 1/2 years.

He'll be sniffing bitch pee and running free with Mitch, Bryn, Sky, Pippa, Timmy and Jack.

Rip Joey xx
