I had a look at the Battersea dogs home website today http://www.battersea.org.uk/

medium size hounds:

Howie - red fawn with white, saluki type male, 2-3 years old, affectionate with people, sociable with dogs At Old Windsor centre

Missy - black and tan, whippet type with fly ears, female, Brands Hatch centre, a bit shy and some separation anxiety, should improve with the right care

Faye - very pretty pale fawn & white female, 2-3 years, Reference: 12/00821, new resident still a bit shy, at Battersea London

larger:

Sam white and red fawn saluki cross male, 3-5 years at Battersea London playful

Lola fawn lurcher female 1-2 years,, at Old windsor, very friendly

Apollo, 2-4 years, red fawn, male, friendly, best as only dog, at Old Windsor

Ringo, 3-5, Black greyhound type male with white chest markings, glossy coat, best as only dog, at Battersea London

I got no results from searches for whippet, greyhound, saluki or lurcher - searched instead by size and scanned the photos
