I race my 2 non peds at Westhoughton each week and would like to find out more details on maybe events at weekends that we could go to. Think i've just joined the BWRA so maybe details will be available there, but too impatient to wait! Only interested in events at Greyhound tracks not simulated coursing etc due to one of them breaking his neck (worried sick when he strikes/lunges at the lure that he'll damage it again as he doesn't bother striking at the track!) Is there a calendar of track events? Would be grateful for any details please. :thumbsup: Here they are below

Oooh your getting keen!!

There are no weekend events on the bends but there's some opens which wouldn't be too far to travel for you, the bends stop end March & we go onto the straights for summer until October when it's back onto the bends :wacko: .

You might be as well to subscribe to Whippet News, which is where the racing calendar/event adverts are printed: £32 for 12 months, Whippet News, 346 Coventry Road, Hinckley, Leicester, LE10 ONH, 01455 442239, just post a cheque with your address & christine will send it to you at the end of each month.

You'd still be ok to run lulu on the straights though wouldn't you? If your getting REALLY keen you could get ANOTHER dog to do both with :- " i expect you might be heading for divorce though if you mentioned that to the OH lol. There are some really good weekend events though at straight racing, for the champs etc

Anyway some bend events you might fancy going to before racing goes over to the straights:

13th Feb - BWRA Tyrone Bend Open - Stainforth

20th Feb - BWRA North West Bend Open - Westhoughton

6th March - NWRF Bend Derby - Warwick

20th March - BWRA Bend Champs - Stainforth

Please Vicky tell me that Westhoughton doesn't stop for the summer months i cannot do without my weekly fix!!!!! I would be gutted! Nor could i handle Harry's constant question "Why we not going racing mummy!"

Thanks for all the details, very helpful indeed :thumbsup: Don't think i could get away with getting Lu out of the house without Woody-he goes bonkers if he's missing out on anything!! Cannot leave him in car without Lu either as he wrecks it! He is just mad for it!!!

Would love another one but although not got to bribe an OH as don't live wi my fella, my bank balance could not cope!! I think a 3 1/2 year old son and 4 mutts is enough for now! Thanks again for info
