So I am awaiting my 16week old whippet puppy with excitement and trepidation and thought Id just say hello!! :)

Also hopefully pick your brains abit too. ;) .

I already have 6 grumpy middle aged cats, 1 psycho kitten, a 9month old chihuahua and a 7month old mini daschund cross so am clearly ready for the looney bin!! :b I have a question regarding food, the breeder was feeding beta puppy food, chappie and tripe to the pups but I cant get hold of beta so am wondering what a good alternative for a whippie would be? Was thinking of james wellbeloved puppy as this seems designed for sensitive eaters.

Also Im aware that they are prone to skin injuries due to thin skin so what would you reccommend is good to have in for first aid?

Thanks, Im sure I will think of many more questions!!!(he doesnt even arrive til saturday)LOL

I bet you cannot wait till the weekend what ever you decied to feed the pup change over slowly if you carnt get beta puppy ask the breeder for some so you can slowly get them him used to what your choice is. as for there skin best thing is to clean any nicks cuts in salt water to clean but heres a thread on all sorts of first aid stuff and things to keep handy

all the best for the weekend

Welcome to the wonderful world of whippets (or should I say the loony bin  ) James wellbelove is a good choice but as Wendy says make the change over gradual BETA is usually readily available from pets at home etc or if you go onto their web page they will give you your nearest stockist

Good luck with your puppy
