Am I correct in thinking that sorbitol is an artificial sweetener that can be poisonous to dogs? (It gives ME a mild case of "the runs"). I think I've read about dogs being poisoned when they picked up and ate sorbitol-containing chewing gum.
I won a raffle prize at a dog show yesterday. It was a vitamin supplement to add to dogfood. I don't think my dogs need such supplements but I would have given them some anyway if I hadn't seen "sorbitol" listed as one of the minor ingredients!
