We had our first meeting of the newly formed South Oxford WRC on 3rd of October and as there were two other meetings going on we were pleased with an entry of over 40 dogs. I must admit to being nervous as we had a hard act to follow the old Oxford Club had always been well run. But I am pleased to say we had no hitches at all. The traps although old all performed well Brian has worked wonders with them - the ground was perfect the only downer was the weather drizzle all afternoon. The two new racing manager had devised a new grading system which gave us some really close racing all all a sucess. We will now be racing once a fourtnight next meeting 17th of October everyone is welcome pre booking by the Tuesday prior to racing on 01865 769108.

Good luck with the new club, we'll try and get to a meeting or 2.
We now run in three groups up to 23lb Group 2 upto what ever (32) - well it will be winter and even dogs put on a bit. and the third is for veteran and pups. We are experimenting by grading the pups along with the veterans which mean they get a few months running with out too much pressure. The grading is being done by Simon assistant racing manager at Reading and Daniele who works in the racing office at Oxford Greyound Stadium and as you know both of them have raced whippets for years so we should not have to many problems there. Grading is 2 foot a mark you go back a mark for each race you win, and gain a mark if you lose.
