I am sure someone could come up with a scenario in which I would have to agree it would be the best option, but in general - a definite NO.

I think you need to define young. My perception of young may not be someone else's

Wendy

Young/Imature/whatever......Before the Bitches First Season.

Hmmm - some bitches in whippets don't come into season till 18-24 months - are they still young or immature.

I'm honestly not stirring here - I think the answers you're going to get aren't going to necessarily mean anything because one person's view of young/immature isn't the same as anothers. For example I 'might' be willing to spay a bitch at 12-14 months, but she hasn't had her first season does that mean she's still immature or young? Or someone else might think that's fine, but if I answer yes to young, they might think I'm talking about 12-14 weeks. Might be more interesting to put some age limits on it like 0-6 monhts, 6-12 months ;1yr-18 months; 18 months - 2 yrs; over 2; never

Doesn't really make any difference to my view on this. I wouldn't spey a healthy bitch no matter what her age (if she were mine, that is)

I agree with you Bardmand :)

Wendy lets just say a young Bitch is a Bitch that has Not yet had a season...Simple. :) :huggles:

why bother with this from looking at the previous threads it's pretty obvious who is for and against it's down to personal opinion same as feeding etc not worth stressing about

I don't know - cannot remember voicing my opinion on this before (maybe a long time ago) - and there could always be lurkers who have had their minds changed one way or the other from the ongoing discussions.

Stressed!! Lol

Im Sorry if this Poll Has Stressed anyone

Im certainly Not Stressed 8) 8)

mines a definate No, i personally wouldn't have any bitch of mine speyed, young or old unless medically necessary. :))

This is not something that can be answered YES or NO. It depends on circumstances, age of the animal and the reasons why do you consider to spay your bitch.

Sorry i will not vote.

Lida

By the way it is SPAY not spey (Spey is a river in Scotland) at least I am glad that nobody is thinking of "splaying" their bitches anymore. :)
