What a day we have just had. I was out lure coursing with EAWCC. Not many northern accents were heard. But now the good news. The running ground was testing and well thought out by the organisers. The weather was kind , enabling all entered whippets to enjoy testing runs. Am pleased to report that Saucey Madam returned to winning ways in spectacular fashion, a slight injury preventing her from proving to be devastating! Magic Trick? The superlatives would never do her justice. I would swear that she had wings as she powered to two sensational victories but she is fit! She hasn't been indulging in that IRRESPONSIBLE hare chasing game though, so maybe the northern gurus have a point, but I somehow doubt it. Back to more less laughable aspects though. I have to say that the assembled group entered dogs that competed with predictable zest and committment, which brings me to The Shiner! She perhaps was the exeption but she did have a torn due claw as her excuse. Not her best day, but I really love her.

Happy days fellow coursers, from the one you need to beat!

Lampingman

Well done to Saucy Madam, Magic Trick and The Shiner for a good days coursing, hope the little injuries heal quickly :luck: glad a good time was had by all.

Don't forget Chris I'm a Northerner and I've got a Spry so be careful if your inviting a challenge cos you know she'll be hard to beat :p

Got any pics?

id come with you scott if you can be bothered to drive down.

nice one scott, ill be looking forward to seeing some old coursing friends again. regards

Hello to Sparky Scott and not least Lesley in fact, all coursers! Nice to read your comments. Look forward to seeing as many as possible for the first meeting of the season which I am told will be during September. Lesley, your girls would I am sure be assets at this club. If you would like info re membership, PM and I will point you in the right direction. Not my decision of course but I can facilitate. Some meetings will be north of the Wash and prob. King's Lynn (ish) area also ,so let me know . You would enjoy i know. If anyone else reading this who would like to consider lure coursing please contact me. Iwould again emphasise that inclusion will not be my decision. I am just a member of the club but I can steer you in the right direction for more information from those who make the decisions.

Best wishes

LAMPINGMAN

Greeting again and hi to Lesley. I did take a load of piccies yesterday but they are mostly of my lot and none of them action if you see what I mean. You must understand that my dogs are so quick, they sometimes beat the naked eye so a camera lens has no chance! We incurred a £10 fine for a loose dog. Saucey Madam was tethered on a chain no less but managed to snap it as the first couple left slips. She wasn't the only one though, June who you all know, was equally guilty. .

We were out this evening sculking round the fields in true IRRESPONSIBLE fashion. Rabbits and hares we of course expect to see, but not an otter! Which is what myself and the Madam observed. She followed it but it was thankfully long gone before she was even remotely close. You never know what you are to see thats why we go out of course.

Happy days

LAMPINGMAN

now even a non-courser like me knows that chasing otters must be illegal!! (w00t)

I would love to see what goes on at a meet, do they every have any in the herfordshire area?

I do have whippets but they are ex-show dogs and although they love chasing everything that moves, I think they are a little old to start a new hobby!

Sounds like an action replay! But no. Pleased to report a further great day with EAWCC as we again coursed the lure. A good turnout as you would expect from this prestigious and long established club and quality abounded. As quality is synonymous with that great coursing bitch Saucey Madam I will lose no time in confirming that she once again hit the high spots, dividing a final with that other good dog of mine , the celebrated, The Shiner. Yes fans, they both made the final and as they had both enjoyed 3 great runs against top class opposition, I elected to divide and share the spoils as they had both done enough and their places in history were secure . Furthermore, as the owner of both, I did think that my own personal cup of success had runneth over sufficiently for one meeting and it was time to call a halt. Another meeting in 2 weeks time, so watch this space folks.

The one you need to beat

LAMPINGMAN

Well done to Saucey madam and the Shiner

Unfortunatley we were unable to join because of the distance and time, but I'm sure the siblings will meet up in the future and it's a day I look forward to :huggles:

Hi Lampy,

Congratulations on your dogs running so well.

Hopefully in the not to distant future we may get an interclub off the ground, I spoke to Andrea about it a while back and she agreed it was a good idea so all being well it could be a good meeting.
