SPICE
Little Spice is a 5 year old ex-racing greyhound girl who’s owner has brought her to us to find her a lovely retirement home. She worked very hard in her racing days and now really deserves her sofa. Spice is an elegant girl with a white coat and black patches, and a very pretty face.
Spice has only just come to us so we are still getting to know each other. Right now she is a little bit shy and timid, but we are hoping she will soon come out of her shell once she gets used to all the changes. She is a gentle little lady who likes getting affection, and is adjusting to all the cuddles and treats she’s now receiving.
Spice is very well behaved on the lead and just trots beside you. She has been good with the other dogs she has met so far, but is not cat friendly.
Dear Spice has never been in a home before, and we would like to get her out of kennels and into either a foster or a forever home before Christmas. This little girl really needs the one-on-one attention that can only come from living in a home, and we think she would come on in leaps and bounds once in a home environment.
Like most greyhounds, Spice will not need a huge amount of exercise. She will be content with two 30min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch her legs offlead in a secure area once or twice a week.
In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.
Spice is currently in kennels in Norfolk, UK. She can be homed anywhere in the UK, but please note that you will be required to travel to meet/collect her. She is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.
If you are interested in fostering or adopting Spice, please email me on tamakin_84@yahoo.co.uk for our adoption application form and information pack. Thanks!
