Another very successful Whippet show was held at Dunsilly today. What a lovely family day out, and the sun shone down in its glory on all of us. A big congratulations to Paul Reynolds on winning Champion of the show with his beautiful Whippet, and we were delighted to take Reserve Champion with our ever loyal Whippet " Silver ". Also congratulations to all the other winners in the showing .

Congratulations to Eddie Mc Kinstry & Liz who won the Whippet racing with their beautiful whippet. Also congratulations to all the other winners in the racing. This club no doubt is going from strength to strenght. It was great to see so many new faces there today, and of course all the regulars as well. Another brilliant turn out of Whippets and Whippet pups to day. These pups will be next years Champions and will add to the already ever growing family of Whippets here in Northern Ireland.

Many thanks to Sammy and Linda Bowers, Janet Duke and Tracy Gill, the Judge for a job well done, Victor Mc Donald for the show ground, and all the committe members for their great organisational skills. Also Patsy Mc Coy & Chris Bowers on the lure, and everyone else who helped with the racing.Ann Forsythe for making such a great Job in selling the tickets for the Raffle, and not forgetting as ever Bluebell (Deidre ) for the photography. Well done the Sporting Whippet Club of Northern Ireland for giving the glory again today that all our wonderful Whippets deserve, and giving us all another memorable day this summer. A job well done. Looking forward to the next one.

that's Brian Doak (who judged lurchers at Donemana show) holding the extra-large wirehaired whippet (Scottish Deerhound)

an excellent photo of Margaret and Silver

I was pleased to be lumbered with prizes to take home after going home empty-handed from Shane's Castle, Glenarm and Donemana (although one of my dogs did make it through to the racing finals at Shane's Castle and Donemana). I think the grading system is a good idea. Every dog that completes the first run gets to run a second time and there are more chances to win if your dog's name isn't Vixen or Cody. I don't know why some people didn't stay to give their dogs a second run as the event didn't run late. We were finished about 4 pm. I think after the grading races, I would like the races to have at least 4 dogs when numbers permit and #1 and 2 in those races should go on to compete in the finals for their grade.

thanks to the organisers and all the people who did the work on the ground on the day

something like the emperor's lost clothes, I've commented on a photo no-one can see. It's been removed as only whippets allowed! (the deerhound was a visitor, not partaking in competitions)

Well he must have had a sex change then Macha. As the person who judged all my dogs at Donemana, definately hadn't the ball's to do the job.lol.Brian and me go back 30 years,to when i was showing ped whipets.Tho to be honest,it's been 20 years since i had last seen him.Heard a wee story tonight in the brandywell.About a young kennel hand being mauled by a womans crazy whippet.Or did he say crazy womans whippet, lol. Was wondering if you heard anything on the grapevine,so to speak,ha ha.He showed me the very place where the bugger had him.

I stand corrected. Brian judged the whippets at Donemana.

what was the name of the woman from Malin who judged lurchers?
