Hi,

I've noticed a small spot in our dog's armpit. On closer inspection, it's just a small spot/lump/pimple, it's not red, inflamed, tender to the touch or oozing anything, just he same colour as his skin.  Do you think this is anything to be concerned about?

Thanks,

ARH

Hard to say - can you post a photo?  Is it anywhere his harness could be rubbing, if he wears one? Remind me how old he is, middle aged dogs sometimes get little warty lumps.

I'm a bit wary of lumps, but I also don't make an emergency vet appointment. It may go away by itself, if not, or if it gets bigger, I'd book a vet check then.

Thanks for the reply :)   He does wear a harness, I'll check if it makes contact with the area.  He's around 7 years old we think, and he does have another, larger warty growth on his side which our vet knows about and says it's noting to concern ourselves with.  This isn't a wart, it's a smooth little spot.  It may be he's always had it and I've only just noticed it, as I don't often stick my fingers in his armpits!  We will keep an eye on it.  I think he's due a checkup soon as part of the plan we have with our vets, so I'll make sure it gets looked at.
