hello everyone im new in here, my names Ian and my dog is 3yro Jasper, who is a extreamly hyper, cleaver springer collie, he needs alot of exercise so he comes to work with me and runs around the farmland as i work there. The problem is, while im trying to work, he just stands next to me barking as loud as he can, continualy all day, even if i just ingnore him. iv tried the barking collier that gives of a sound, but becuase he runs around so fast it just went off all the time and didnt work. i dont really want to try the other collers (electric and the sent one) but if he dosnt stop barking he wont be able to come to work and will have a very boreing life at home. is there a way i can train him to "SHUT UP" before i go mad.

Thank you in advace

im no collie expert but my opinion would is that he wants your attention all the time! if you are ignoring him it will only make the barking worse.

he is a herding dog and is his instinct might be kicking in on the farm land especially if he is off lead and trying to herd you?

maybe you are able to teach him fetch? this way you can throw a toy back and forth for him to play whilst you're working?

if this isnt an option and you consider leaving him at home, how about doggy day care?

other than those suggestions then i'm just not sure.

hopefully a breeder of collies will respond with the magical answer you have been looking for!

all the best

Sophie
