Hello,

I know I have asked about this before but I have been trying to practice but I keep coming across a couple of problems 1 when I try to stack Indi gets into what I think is a good position and then when I stop supporting him he starts to lean on to his back legs, Is it that I am asking him to stretch further than he wants to at this early stage of learning? and I know it takes a lot of practice and patients (which I do try to remember) but he gets quite nervous when we do it so is there any techniques that I can use to make it a less stressful experience? any help and suggestions welcome. :( Here is one of the better attempts but as you can see he isnt very happy about doing it. Try stacking him an a table, do not stand behind him, stand on his side, then you can move in front of him if you do not want to be in the photo. :) :luck: Practice only for minute or so but every day or even few times a day.

Looks like a nice pup :)

Hi thanks seraphina, I will give it ago at doing it for shorter periods of time and maybe two or three times a day.

Karan,i,m sure he will get the idea, its best to start a early age(but not too much)he still young,so he will learn in time, as everyone else says a liitle bit at a time each day :D He looks so much like his Dad,my Jack

I agree, the key is not to attempt stacking for more than one or two minutes per day otherwise they come to hate it. Don't get impatient and keep repeating the exercise in one go, or it will become stressful for both of you. It will take a month or two but they'll get the idea eventually, if you practice some of the techniques already described.

It is far easier to practice stacking on a table, stand at the side of him, then when you have him stood correctly move round to the front more. Have a nice tasty bit of bait in your pocket either liver or chicken or whatever he likes & offer him a bit once he is stood correctly.

Keep repeating the word either stay or stand whichever you prefer & when he has stood for a minute or so praise him & give him a titbit so he starts to realise that standing for a minute brings a reward.

Good luck :luck: :luck: :luck:
