Anyone have the results from Stanborough today? Bet you were all glad of the shade from the trees!

Ooooo yes! The shade was lovely so the heat was no problem at all.

Its been a while since we've been to Stanborough. I'd forgotten how nice it is in the woods there. We camped Saturday night and walked to the pub for a bite to eat. A great pub in a lovely little village. Then we came back and sat out with the others who stayed over. It was still warm at 11.30 when we went to bed. A really nice weekend :D

I would just like to say that we had a lovely day at Stanborough yesterday  Everyone was so friendly and welcoming as it was our first time there.

Well done to Akela for getting third in the main final  who's knows what he would of done Lorraine, had he not stung his foot just before the final :- "

Edee and Gus had a little chase with the lure at the end and loved every minute

well done to all the winners

and well done kaos

hope everybody came off sound :luck:

Photos were a bit tricky it seems. But I've beaten him and he's promised me that he won't take blurry photos again. Or photos of the trees. But he still insists on wearing sock and sandals together. :- "

Also I deleted photos of grass after the heats and so they aren't in order and I don't know a lot of the dogs.

Well I know who these two are. Elvire in white and Rch Talk Of The Devil in Blue.

BTW for people who haven't been there this is Stanborough. Leafy and green isn't it. There are some dogs going around the first bend in this photo (see the red coat) and the track in the foreground is the straight track. We really enjoyed racing there. Alan says that the tea was excellent.

Thanks for a good day. Weather was too hot, us northerners are used to rain and misery. (w00t)

Last picture is n.e. 28lbs. Main Final. Mystic Rags in white, Go With The Flow in black :) and Crack On Tristian in red. Thanks Beejay.

Lordy knows what Mouse is doing Barbara but he's doing it very well

The second picture is probably Smoove Citizen (red) and Golden Snitch (blue).

The one after that is Tikno Rawnie (red) Inky Chic (blue) and Carondias Honky Tonk Woman (black).

Great photos BTW

I think we should have had one of Alan in his socks and sandals and very white legs. Bless 'im :D

Well Mouse got carried away and went skywards. Nowt new there then. :b Woody got a bit closer to a dogs bum than normal. So that's last and last as usual Darc. But they enjoyed themselves. Bless 'em.

Old Bean makes his racing debut at the Indy in the heavyweight vets. Please, please don't let him put on any weight this week. After all these years we've finally got him down to 32lbs so he can run off the back alongside JCB with Fine & Dandy and Runaway and Keeper and, and, and starting in front of him. And of course he goes right which will be how come they beat him.

Alan insisted on poor little Mouse being subbed for Jest on Sunday. He will come last but by how much. 20 yards?

As to Alan's white legs Judy, I wish that I'd had the camera with me when he was stood next to the guy with the tanned legs. Alan has no shame. He didn't get sunburnt legs due he says to his shorts being very long and wide so they cast shade on most of them and the socks covered up the bottom half. They remind me of the ones that Eric Morecambe used to wear. I wonder where the scissors are? :- "

I am sure that your boys were giving their all :huggles:

I was wondering where Jest was as I couldn't see him in the finals - why did you not run him, is he OK? (sorry if I have missed something on another thread)

It was Jest's week off Darc. He's not been round there before so he wasn't entered.

However his week off has stretched somewhat now :- " so he won't be racing again until the champs. Nowt serious just some little niggles, no point pushing it at his age. Such is life.

I am sorry to hear that Barbara, but niggles are just as much of a pain as any other injury - and we certainly know about them! Give him a cuddle from us, hope that he recovers well.

Our first open this Sunday since Whippet Rescue (& Fletch's first one since Maidstone), don't really want to run them not race fit, but if we don't start somewhere we will never get them running again this season. They all had hand slips last sunday and came off OK, so fingers crossed that the day goes OK this weekend and they start the road back to full fitness. (actually I have got more than just fingers crossed  ).

We are not sure whether we will enter the Champs, will just see how they progress over the next couple of weeks. Will be nice to see Merle running as a veteran though (but he hates the hard ground so prob won't do many with him until the end of the year). All in all, nice to be feeling a little bit more positive about things. :)

Jest is fine thanks, nowt has had to change for him. Apart from being cooked in the porta mag box twice a day and having stinky stuff rubbed on. Oh and his mums gone mad keep making his legs move.

Well this is the 2nd day of thundery rain forecast and we had about 15 mins of thunder and 2-3 mins of rain last night and none so far today.

Looking forwards to seeing you all on Sunday. :huggles:
