Hi All,

well I thought now would be as good as any to start my search for a ''special'' stud dog for my ''special'' Chance, her next season (hopefully) will be next year March,

I want a pedigree whippet to cover her, one that will compliment her in every way, super temperment, loving, loyal, strong, fast, intelligent, totally gorgeous, and a real pleasure to own.

I was talking to Chance's breeders father (he's been breeding pedigree English bull dogs and staffs for over 30 years) and he couldn't recommend Mike Brown enough!! he said that his dogs are top quality and everything I could possible wish for,

so for a start has anyone off this site had any pup's/stud from this line? I would like honest answers please good or bad, as I won't go for nothing but the best for my Chance

Thank you!!

IMO there's much nicer stud dogs on this site.

Good luck, i'm sure chance will make a brill mum :luck:

I know you said you want a good companion thats good looking etc, but any idea if you want a coursing / showing / racing stud dog? coz the build on all these is completely different

Do you want the sire to be along similar lines as your bitch or are you going for an outcross?

idealy I'd like a good all-rounder, I would love to course/race/hunt and show (and of course I'd be keeping a pup or two :- " )

(although showing would only be at local shows, I'm not planning to do crufts (w00t) )

I took Chance, Binx and Indi to about 6 local shows this year, but haven't be able to show Binx which is upsetting as he's such a stunner, you can't show a crypto, :( :(

Jo Chance is a lurcher so has no known lines so to say, but I do want a pedigree whippet with all the factors posted above for her

Oops sorry, forgot she was a lurker! ;)

the best thing to do tina is to actually go and see the dogs in the flesh first and then you can see first hand how they are good luck will look forward to next year and your puppy pics.

Thanks for the advice Paula, yeah I will be most deffo going to ''vet'' the dog first, and to find out if he's ''the one''

even though it's not until next year I'm getting very excited about mine and Chance's first litter :D

:luck: good luck, by the way :luck: just a point, would an owner allow you to use their pedigree dog on chance? i know that with peds, k.c reg especially, its frowned upon, as if the resulting offspring are champion standards, but not papered, the bloodline is considered 'lost'. genuinely curious

but you will love having a gaggle of pups in the house

also make sure her dates are right, our girl was due in during the end of may (the one before was november, and before that may) but caught us out by coming in to her season middle of april! the stud owners had to juggle their schedule to accommodate us! other than that, i hope everything goes well :luck:

ps dont forget to post pictures :- "

Hi tina,

Just would like to say that i have recently had a puppy who's stud dog belonged to Mark Roberts of www.parkstonewhippets.co.uk what can i say brilliant :D ,

would well recommend a look at mark's stud dogs.

Good :luck: in who ever you decide to use.

HI Tina,

if you are interested in useing Sam (Parkstone Buttons) then you are more than welcome to have a free mating from him to make up in some small way for Binx not being able to fullfill his duties.

Thanks for the kind offer Mark, but unfortunetly our car will not make it that far, and as our curcumstances have changed (dramatically) we are unable to fix or even purchase another one,

if our luck changes for the better by next year I will let you know, but at the moment there's no hope.
