Have just seen Margaret, Steve & the boys (little puppy Cedric is  )

The ground is wet we've had a lot of rain in the last few days and the forecast for the next 2 weeks isnt good. The plan is therefore to start in March as usual. If the weather is great and the ground dries up then this may be brought forward nearer the time.

Cedric what a GREAT name :* ......Can't wait to get going as the mad one is chomping at the bit :D

Oh dear what shame. :( But that's the weather. Lucky are the clubs that aren't so weather dependent. Last year they were able to run in January to the benefit of members and finances so it's a shame that the club has had to miss out this year.

We are lucky though that the club members can go to other clubs in the South West to get some race fitness into their dogs and racing experience for their pups. I'll be seeing you at Oxford and Andover then Hannah. Then with South Cotswolds and Gloucester both starting up again at the beginning of February it'll start feeling like the 2008 race season has started.

Might see you at Andover !!

Is Oxford hard to get to Beejay?

We go along the M4 and this time we are going to exit at Swindon and go from there to Oxford (we've normally got off the M4 at the Newbury exit and gone past Dicot and that takes us almost 2 hours from home). The club itself is easy to find being just off the ring road near Cowley.

For you though it would be an awful journey I would think. I can't think how you'd get there easily. :(

Hopefully see you at Andover. (Weather permitting :) )

we're waiting for SCWRC puppy cup - Supe is keeping fit by jumping on the sofa and bed, and eating the num nums :- "

Ahhh num nums are tripe sticks or such like ....... This is how Supe won Garys heart at our house, sitting and asking for his num num

Hi,

If you were a member in 2007 you should have been invited to the AGM and presentation (which was in December, there is another thread in WSWRC forum) - wonder if Margaret still has the correct contact details?

We race every Sunday from March to December (weather dependant), start 10.30 ish. I'll post the results on here (and the whippet forum) and we're also going to make more use of the Whippet News in 2008.

We'll be running for trophies again this year as we are going to be very well organised :D so I'll also post the fixtures on here.

Took the dogs for a run at the polo ground this morning. Still very wet and pools of water lying on the surface, and there is still water running down off the hills onto the lower ground, so I imagine it will be a good few weeks before it dries out (as long as it stops raining!)

The groundsman has actually prevented anyone driving in (people also use the ground to fly model aeroplanes) so I dont think they would have let us use the ground even if we wanted to.

Fingers crossed for some sun. 8)

Hi Rachel, fingers and everything crossed for a lot of dry days before we start back

(don't think we will be getting any this week)!!!!!!!!!
