True story, happened this morning whilst I was exercising the Whips at just gone 7.00 am
There we were walking along between the allotments and the river going to the fields, minding our own business and thinking about nothing in particular. I noticed some crows in the allotment but didn't take much notice and it wasn't until I was half a dozen steps further on and I thought "What a strange place to put a plastic heron". Naaah! I thought and went back to have another look.
Well, it was a very live, real heron (a large one) and he had the BIGGEST yellow goldfish/Koi Carp in his beak. He was trying to swallow it headfirst but the big, fat body of the fish was as long as his beak and he was obviously having a bit of a problem. I had to laugh
but also felt a bit sorry ??? because someone would be missing one of their very expensive large fish when they had a look in their pond!! The crows that I had noticed were obviously trying to intimidate the heron into giving up his breakfast :b but he wasn't having any of it and was standing his ground. :0
Never seen anything like it but it did give me a laugh first thing!!
