we had a lovely IG boy for 14 years who was very strong and ran with whippets. In fact he raced at the beginning of Fordingbridge club and could hold his own with the peddies. I would love to have another but have seen some with very thin legs and would want a sturdy one again. Are some bred sturdy or do you just take a chance. Our boy was bred by Rossini out of Asti and bred by Joan Saunders. :w

:) Hi Rocky, welcome to the forum. With regard to fine bone etc. you do have to be careful which lines you select stock from. Some are noted for this feature. My own two which you might have seen on the forum have a lot of Tamoretta, Fleeting, Artmeis lines in them. They also have some Salspa in them who do come out rather fine. It really is a case of doing your homework well and choosing carefully.

If you want any more info please feel free to email me.

Hi Rocky,

my IGs run with my whippets and until earlier this year with my Greyhound and Lurcher(sadly both passed over) They are excellent rabbiters and can out catch the Whippets anytime as they can turn a lot quicker.

Mine are not kept caged and from baby puppies are allowed to run and jump on and off furniture and boy can they bounce!!

The speed with which they do the wall of death around the Sitting room is frightening.

Yes mine are built on stronger lines but I can allow puppies to go to pet homes in the knowledge that they can live as a normal pet and that counts more to me.

It will always be hard to get an IG as there are only about 100 bred each year on average.

We did have a go at Lure Coursing but they just wanted to chase each other so they were a bit useless.

There are stronger ones out there but they are just as hard to come by as the more fragile variety, Jan
