I was wondering if anyone knows if I can use sudocrem on the side of my dogs mouth he has a allergy that is starting to clear up but not gone completely, is it safe to use.

I would say yes but try not to let him lick , rub it in as much as you can, it not take long to soak in.

How much would they have to consume for it to be toxic?? Mines had it on his feet and a cut here n there in his life, I know he's licked at times,, but like I said rub it in. You said side of mouth! I was banking on outside of mouth not inside by the way.

I'm not sure Lurcherman, also it might be ok for a mastiff but not for a teacup yorkie. And once might be ok but every day for a week might not. I'm just a bit overcautious online.

I should have said, if i dont have Hibiscrub (my preferred choice) I dab minor wounds with TOP because you can gargle with that.

My vet prescribes Dermisol for wound healing. I think you can get it on line.

Hibicrub and tcp is top stuff, I had a little cheaper stuff than hibi and it was also magic stuff,, seen it on Paul o Grady battersea show so they use it hehehe.

Hi Lurcherman, what was the cheaper stuff and where can you get it please - always looking for an opportunity to save money now i have two dogs!

Can't remember the name but I got it from vet medic .com bout 4years ago, it smelt the same , same colour and did the job, if I can find the old catalogue then I will let you know the name so check back in a week or so ok.

Thanks for that

Spanielmad, the name of that scrub is called vetasept, £5.99, if you go onto vet medic website you will see it, don't know if still the same but it was postage free.
