Do you give your dog(s) anything added to their food?

I understand that this is sometimes necessary for those who feed raw.

What do you give, and what for?

I have started Oreo on Evening Primrose Oil for her itchyness and she has been on it now for a week. While it hasn't stopped her chewing I have noticed that she is scratching her side less.

I am considering using Yumega Plus also, but I will see how this goes before I try her on that.

We give the green-ums in the vain hope it will stop the burning of the lawn...

They don't work!

In regards to 'burning the lawn' I find that if you water the area with a watering can straight afterwards it stops the grass turning yellow.

Either that or do what I am thinking about doing and slab the lot :)

My dogs get a halibut liver oil capsule every day for their skin and coat. They get a small scoop of a supplement called 'Herbolistic' in one of their meals every day. It's made and sold by a UK food company called Healthy Paws. They cater to the raw and complete markets. Just do an internet search. I think it's Healthypaws.co.uk but not sure at this time of night.

And the older ones get a glucosamine supplement. I've been giving the VetVits joint forumla, but recently I changed my oldest over to YuMove as she's been struggling, and I've heard really good feedback for this with the extra things in it for joints.

chelynnah can you let know in a few months if yumove is working please

I feed raw so give Easy Greens, Keepers Mix, Garlic and Fenugreek and Olive Oil once a day. :)

My boss uses Yumove for her old staffie cross and swears by it, she can tell if she has forgotten to give him the tablet or if she has run out as he is stiff and slow moving around. There is a loading dose for a couple of weeks I think then maintenance amount, its fairly cheap and definately works for him, he has been on it over 6 months now.

I will let you know. I was quite happy till this year with the VetVits one (the rest of the younger ones are on that till we run out), but Savannah seemed to just hit a wall this year. I have heard such good things about it.

Loading dose is double dose for a month or so, then regular dose, though they do also advise a double dose through the colder months. I found the best price for it on Amazon believe it or not. I'm sorely (no pun intended) tempted to try the human version I-Move
