Hi everyone!

I have not been on here for a while, some of you know me from way back. As you know sighthounds in Ireland have a very hard time. I am posting about a new idea I have had to try to help whippets, lurchers and greyhounds in irish pounds. I have set up a swap shop on the forum attached to the WRI website. The way it works is this, you can donate items for sale and the money from that item goes directly towards getting a sighthound out of the pound. You post a pic and description of the item, you can place it up for auction or a fixed price. The buyer pays by paypal on our forum. I confirm once payment is received and forward you the address and you post the item to the buyer. This is especially useful in the case of dogs that are surrendered into the pound and only have 24 hrs grace. This money can pay for kennels until a foster home or rescue place can be found. I am looking for people who want to get involved and really make a difference. If you want to help its easy, dig out stuff you dont want and put it up for sale. If you have any sighthound related stuff. Collars, coats, pictures, jewellery, books etc. Anything secondhand or new. You will get to see on the forum exactly which dogs the money goes towards helping as the dogs that need help will be posted on our urgent section. The idea is simple, people get to treat their dog and help save another! The shop is up and running now just click on the banner in my signature and head to the forum. Thank you for your time. xx

Just bumping this up, we really could use some items so if anybody has anything they would like to donate, new or secondhand please contact me on info@whippetrescueireland.com Thanks

Good luck with this, it's a great idea to raise funds. I'll see if I have anything I can donate to the cause
