The [SIZE=14pt]South West Whippet Fun Day[/SIZE] is on Sunday 24th July at UGBROOKE HOUSE, Chudleigh, Devon

It is a great day out for you and all your whippets the events include:

Lure coursing by the BSFA

Long Jump

Sausage & Spoon race

Childrens Sausage & spoon race

Nimble whippet & owner

Fun dog show including best whippet in fancy dress (w00t)

Lots of homemade refreshments available all very cheap and LOTS of lovely cakes!!!

Entry from 9.30am, events from 10am, no admission after 1.30pm

Entrance just £5 to include all fun events!

Ugbrooke house is a fantastic location we are so lucky Lord & Lady Clifford allow us to hold the event there...

No it has always been there I think!! It is because it takes so long to clear everything up we try to finish at a reasonable time and if people come in at say 2.30pm they might be a bit niggled that there are no events left!

Unfortunately the funday clashes with Dorset County show this year and also West Somerset racing We are always a bit limited to dates as we obviously can only have the venue when it is convenient for Lord & Lady Clifford.

That reminds me Dessie, I must send off my lure coursing entry :thumbsup:

Just had the map book out and I'm going to try and make it. Sparky will be 6 months old the following week will he still be able to come, I think he would be magic in the sausage race, it's definitely where his talents lie.

Hi Jo - just a small comment if you would pass it on (I'm sure you'll get lots of similar). it was GREAT to receive the schedule for the September show this early (got it yesterday), but included in it was the notice for the July day - this weekend! Now if I hadn't seen it on here (can't make it anyway), that's awfully short notice. It would have been nice to have received it a month or two ago. I know that the mailings and things would add to expense, but hey - I pay membership - raise it another 50p :b .

OR - if the notices could be printed off and sent to the various other whippet clubs to have at their shows - just something to give most people a bit of a heads up. Not everyone's on the internet

edited to say - and as payback for that comment I now can't FIND the schedule which arrived yesterday LOL. Serves me right for being critical!

Yes, we were waiting for the schedule to come back from the printers so it can all go out together, so thats the reason! We try obviously to minimise all costs and so it makes sense to do this but it would be nice for people to get more notice - I'll make the suggestion :thumbsup:

But we haven't had any other similar complaints... yet!! But we didn't get any last year either :- "

The club does not ask me to put details of the fun day or the shows on here, I just pop them here for info off my own back

The other reason they were all a bit late was confirmation of sponsors as well.

Shame you can't make it though But it was Dorset County who moved their week rather than us!!
