TEDZER

**UPDATED: 31ST DECEMBER 2012**

Location: Foster home in Kent, UK.

Key Points: Very happy, loves life, friendly, affectionate, good with dogs, home savvy.

Say hi to the Tedzer! He is a 3 year old greyhound boy who is looking for a loving family to call his own. Tedzer was originally bred to race, but never really got the point of all that racing business and managed to get himself banned from the track for goofing off! Still, Tedzer has never looked back, and has now come to Kerry Greyhounds UK to find his forever home.

Tedzer is a striking black boy with a little white heart on his chest. He is relatively small for a male greyhound, and very dainty in his features. His coat is now beautifully sleek and soft after some TLC and brushes.

~ Personality ~

Generally: Super friendly, loving, playful, bit cheeky.

Tedzer is a real clown, and loves life. He is a wee bit shy when he first meets new people, but he gets over this very quickly. Once comfortable, Tedzer is delighted to dole out the love to anyone who gives him a bit of time, and he really is a beautiful character. He definitely has a playful, cheeky streak too and loves to mess around and create mischief. If you want a happy-go-lucky hound who will love to love you while keeping you on your toes, Tedzer is your dog!

~ In the Home ~

Generally: Home savvy, housetrained, ok to be left with canine company.

Tedzer has been in a foster home now for over a month and is doing splendidly. He is housetrained and ok to be left with other dogs for company. He shares his foster home with 3 other dogs and loves them all. He’s a real goof and loves to play and zoom around, then promptly flop down on the grass for a snooze. Tedzer can be a bit cheeky and pinch the odd object such as a cushion or a slipper, but he doesn’t chew the items, just likes to stash them away for safekeeping!

~ Other Animals ~

Generally: Good with other dogs, playful.

Tedzer is very good with other dogs and is always pleased to make new friends. He is excited but not bouncy in his greeting when meeting dogs for the first time, and loves to run around and play with dogs that understand his ‘tag’ game. He may be a bit rough for very small dogs but would be a great fun-loving companion for a medium sized to large dog. Though playful and fun loving, Tedzer is still a greyhound and loves to lounge around and snooze. He is not cat friendly.

~ Out and About ~

Generally: Walks well, inquisitive, good traveller, moderately active.

Tedzer is an active, super inquisitive fella who wants to learn about the world around him. He can be a wee bit timid initially, but once he knows he’s safe with you, he loves the chance to explore the world and meet new friends. Tedzer would be very happy in a moderately active home who would take him on nice long walks as well as give him some offlead time to play and frolic for the joy of it.

Tedzer walks well on the lead and travels good in the car. He is truly a gorgeous boy that needs just a little bit more confidence building to make him that completely perfect pooch.

~ Greyhounds as Pets ~

In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.

~ Where Am I? ~

Tedzer is currently in a foster home in Kent. He can be homed anywhere in the UK, but please note that you may be required to travel to our rescue to meet and collect him.

~ Want To Adopt Me? ~

Tedzer is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

If you are interested in adopting Tedzer, you can contact me (Tam) via email: tam@kerrygreyhounds.co.uk, or speak directly to Bronwen by phoning: 075 000 62648. Emails are usually replied to within 24 hrs.

There is an application form for adopting a Kerry Greyhound, and we will ask you to fill it in as the first step in the adoption process. To speed up this process, we recommend you do this before emailing/calling. You can find the form, as well as further information on our homing procedures, on the Adoption Page: http://s300889640.websitehome.co.uk/uk/adoption.html.

Thank you.

~~ KERRY GREYHOUNDS UK ~~

Kerry Greyhounds UK is a small voluntary organisation that is based in Norfolk, England. It focuses on rehoming unwanted Irish greyhounds and lurchers, as huge numbers are bred in Ireland each year and homes are few and far between. KGUK operates through a network of volunteers spaced over Ireland and the UK. We can look after approximately 30 dogs at any one time in both kennels and foster homes.

Each dog is neutered, vaccinated, & microchipped before being adopted (unless stated otherwise).

We assess the suitability of all home offers, and we have homed greyhounds in all corners of the UK.

Our Website: http://www.kerrygreyhounds.co.uk

If interested in one of our hounds, please visit our website’s Adoption Page: http://s300889640.websitehome.co.uk/uk/adoption.html for information and instructions on our homing procedures. Once you have filled in and returned the application form, we will then contact you via phone or email to discuss adopting one of our hounds in more detail.

If you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to contact us. I (Tam) can be contacted through the following email:

Email: tam@kerrygreyhounds.co.uk

Emails are usually replied to within 24hrs.
