Just back from our fundraising efforts at the NNWRF Bends event at Highgate Stadium today.

We had a fantastic day, were made very welcome, and would like to thank the organisers for inviting us, and everyone there for helping us raise much needed funds :D And huge thanks as well to everyone who donated items for us to raffle and sell :D

Well done to Maisie for winning a giant box of gravy bones for correctly guessing Jim's weight ... you guessed 24 lb 14 oz and you were almost exactly right. And you were the only person to guess Jim's favourite food in the tiebreaker ... the boy does love his lambs hearts

And finally, thank you, thank you, one and all (and particularly to the gentleman who pressed a £50 note into my hand) for helping us raise the princely sum of £340 today ... we promise to use every penny to further benefit the whippets, ped and non-ped alike, who come into our care.

Yes, a big 'Thank You' to everyone (and in particular the person who provided me with a Poo bag, when embarrasingly I'd gone out with my collection box and Jim 'Scruples' Whippet and left my coat with the poo bags in the pocket in the bar, lol!!) Fantastic day

Thank you for all the work you do for our lovely breed. It was lovely to meet you all and I hope that you attend many more events.

I'm so proud of the Scruplers!!!

Well done and many thanks to everyone at Highgate today for helping it to happen :D

Setting out our stall ... and bottom left, Marcus  ... a lovely old boy (who's owner sadly died recently) en route to his new home today. He and all the others like him are why we wear ourselves out doing this. Thank you again, everyone, we couldn't make the difference we hope we do without you

Wow! Fantastic amount raised - well done everyone!

Thanks to the SCRUPLES volunteers Alison, Anne and Mark for accepting our invitation, you are all doing a fantastic job, glad you enjoyed the day and little JIM is adorable  and so layed back lapping up all the attention :huggles: hope he finds his forever home soon (if he hasn't allready),

you are more than welcome to attend any of our events, as promised NNWRF 2011 calendar dates on its way

Glad to see Scruples had a great day raising funds and delighted to read non-peds will be supported by this charity.

I'm not the least bit surprised they had a prosperous day knowing the kindness and generosity of my fellow whippet racers. Well done everyone.

As it says in all our literature by ‘whippet’ we mean any dog that looks like a whippet, regardless of its breeding. The non peds are every bit as deserving of help if they need it and we'll always do our best for them
