Me and John were chatting tonight about the racing,,and what dog we liked to race. He loved to run Ricky,,guess when,,as he would run through a brick wall for the lure,,no brains,,I said Gizmo,,Georges Choice,,as he slept on the track,,had to take him to the traps a few races to wake him up,,,and boy he could run,,we both said Robbie would chuck a race if he thought he was beeten,,smart dog in my eyes,,,what dog do you or did like to run,,either guts,,brains,,or just chuck the race as they knew they would not win ?

A new topic I have not seen on k9,,so let us know who and why :blink:

I just enjoying running my dogs Bootiful is the funniest dog to run i swear if i could have raced her down to the traps she would have won everything lol she loves being in the traps no lid down nothing just stands in there and if you didnt let her in there she did this..

She could squeeze over the top of any jump board to get into the traps ...easiest dog in the world to put in .. does it all on her own (w00t)

Always loved racing Connor's Legacy, she had bags of enthusiasm, when it came to the day that I could see she didn't have the same enthusiasm any more I retired her :wub: she's now a sofa loafer at my sisters and loves that she can stand on the windowsill and look out for cats :teehee: .

each dog is differnt that ive had the past few well the 1st one i really ran was mickey whizz and of course i loved to race him coz he used to win quite a lot lol mind i had to have help @ the end as he was too big (50lb) 4 me to drag off the lure myself as when he got it he wudnt let it go.. i think peter liked to race whisper whizz coz he always flew out the traps and was nearly always in the lead @ 100yds i think we shud have had 100 yds scratch races and then he might have won lol crackin whizz was quite nice to race as she was easy @ the end wud run to the lure but then come to u if u shouted of her. nikki whizz is terrible to race, goes daft in the traps, tries to get her muzzle off and if i dont get her pretty quick @ the end of a race it wud take me a while to get her back on, so if u c me panicking trying to catch her u know why lol now hmmmm the pups, well up to now theyve both been lovely to train, im running rio and shes great, queit in the traps, will overtake fine and quite easy to pick up as long as her muzzle is on. peter is racing gem, she too is queit in the traps not sure about the racing as yet. but shes a good trapper. :thumbsup:

WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE (Rosie) HUNKY DORA (Vivien) and CHUCKY (Molly

Rosie was a dream to own and race she didn't like excersise used to have to wake her up to go to traps but boy did she perform when she got there o

Vivien was allways in your face an absolute nightmare to hold at the track but she repaid all her bad behavour in great performances :wacko:

Molly was an out and out thief she raided the caravan fridge at most weekend events so made the entry to very few champ events

OAKLAWN VEIW mother to Rosie and Viv and grandmum to Molly when we got her she was a bag of bones she didn't know what the inside of a house looked like, frightened of the TV and fire, but it wasn't long before she overcame her worries and spent the rest of her life sprawled on the sofa in front of the fire :huggles:

Tora [Two Faced] is/was my favourite dog to run just cos shes a nutter and could also run quite well when she put her mind to it and as my others have been pretty poop at running and i like to win hahaha and they were lucky to win a D final i have to say she is deffo my fav lol

Ice (Twice As Cool) is deffo the most loving dog and shes the sweetest little thing but mum it said favourite to race and she couldnt run, i was happy if she wasnt in the D final infact i dont know why i put her racing name cos people wont know her she was that poo haha

As for Meeka, ******* worm is all i'm saying....

My favourite dog/owner combination was watching Gill with Moppit at Manton :lol: I've lost count of the amount of times Moppit got told off for trying to bite fingers through the muzzle :-

No it doesnt have to be the fastest but when the dog would sooner stand squealing at the racing rather than running in a race it kinda makes it no fun lol i like my dogs to enjoy racing, Ice didnt like it too hot, she didnt like it too cold, if it was raining u had no hope lol

Kerri ran faster in the rain, quicker you went, less time your feet were on the ground in the wet :clown:

Only owned Tig who is a complete Sh*t to race, bites me, tries to bit other people, barks like mad, in the car and out, bugger to get in the traps (well he walked in but then tried to bite you when he was in there) and was a sod to get off at the end, and he was a knob head for just jogging behind think that comes from giving away yards too often in finals so all in all a terrible dog to race dispite how much he won, in his day he was fast as you like just a knob head lol You could not imagine a more different dog at home tho, soft as you like and an effort to get off the sofa most of the time!

J20 Has to be my fav, she was light for a start, very loving on and off the track, unbelievably loyal, quiet all the time, tried her hardest at racing and you never really knew what kind of performance she was going to put in, had she of had a better start to her racing career i think she would have won a lot more! All in all a fantastic little bitch who i miss lots!

Hopefully in about 10 years time i will get another one who will have J's personality on the track and Tigs racing success that would be ideal lol

this is really hard (w00t) think its got to be between Zac- Cracked it he was always such a good dog to race barked abit but if i picked him up he would stop lol always gave 110% would come to me at the end of the race :thumbsup: and never much trouble on the track, mickey- Bound Too as always been good never much trouble took to everything training, racing and loved the bends the other one who as been brill to race is Jimmy- Cracked the Spell he's not raced much and not sure if he will race again but was lovely dog on the track and to race :thumbsup:

(w00t) And our lexi too,(cracked it x greyhound)we were only telling someone that last week.though you need a crowbar to get her off the rag :blink:

Im talking about what dog you just loved to race,,not the one who won all the time,,I remember wee Abbey in the 1980's,,,she was Predators litter sister,,,she would run half way up the track,,think sod it,,stop and wait for the lure to be brought to her,,then do the full distance,,used to pull my hair out,,but loved that wee dog to bits,,she did win a few puppy races in Devon,,and did beet her brother :teehee: ,,just the once. Loved to race her,,she used to jump into my arms after racing too. She died very young,,cancer.

John calls my wee Robbie,,,"Abbey with balls ",,as love him to bits too

Cant let this thread go quiet without giving my lil angel Cleo (turbo tootsies) a mention...she was a darling, but a pain for running left lol made me panic everytime i run her if she wasnt on the left she was showing so much promise for a young dog and it gave me so much pleasure watching my lil lad bobby run HIS dog and his face when she won was priceless (w00t) What i would give to have that lil dog back just to see Bobby with her (well and cos we all miss her)... hes just not into the racing since we lost her. He's got a picture of her in his room and at night still cries if he looks and thinks about her but he will NOT let me take it out.

So gotta say just for the pleasure it gave bob to run her she needs a mention for bobbys BEST dog and also HIS BEST friend he will never forget :wub:
