Racing today was for the Handicap Challenge Trophies.

We only had a small meeting so dogs ran in 2 weight groups. There were 3 rounds of handicapped racing for points and dogs were re-handicapped after every race which produced some very, very close racing. Scratch was front dog and the handicap was 1/2 yard per mark.

The Handicap Challenge A Trophy

Round 1

1. Duncton Quest (Sc)

2. Xile (Sc)

3. Xcalibur (4)

4. Agile Reflection (4)

Round 2

1. Duncton Quest (4) - beating the handicapper he won by just as much as the first time !

2. Xcalibur (4)

3. Xile (Sc)

4. Agile Reflection (3)

Round 3

1. Agile Reflection (2)

2. Xcalibur (4)

3. Xile (Sc)

Final Result

1= Rob & Darcia's Duncton Quest (Time After Time x WCRCh Firebird)

1= Lesley Harris's Xcalibur (WCRCh Celtic Flite x Conway Lady)

3. Lesley's Xile

4. Agile Reflection

The Handicap Challenge B Trophy

Round 1

1. Conway Celt ( 8)

2. Duncton Crusader (Sc)

3. Time & Chaos (5)

4. Double Time (5)

Round 2

1. Conway Celt ( 8)

2. Time & Chaos (3)

3. Double Time (3)

4. Duncton Crusader (Sc)

Round 3

1. Conway Celt (10)

2. Time & Chaos (4)

3. Double Time (3)

4. Duncton Crusader (Sc)

Final Result

1. Dave & Lynne Thomas's Conway Celt (WCRCh Celtic Flite x Conway Lady). Penny was amazing really as no matter how far back she was put, she would give just that little bit extra to win by a head each time. Well done Penny.

2. Time & Chaos

3= Duncton Crusader

3= Double Time

Another pleasant day racing (we missed you June & Steve though!!! :( )

Was interesting to try handicapping for a change, although I did not think that it made any difference to the group winners, it gave all dogs a competitive opportunity.

Penny was awesome & like Judy said would not let any other dog get in front of her. Merle made me laugh, I couldn't believe it when he also outdid the handicapper. what a babe  (can I say that about my own dogs?)

Looking forward to running again next week (what a difference to actually having a dog compete for a change) Is it a weight meeting this week Judy?

Yes, should be.

I thought the handicap meeting was fun though as all the dogs were in with a chance and none of the races was won by much or lost be much. Most of the time there was only about a yard between first and last (thanks to the brilliant handicapper ;) ) except Merl of course who kept getting incredible traps and won by about 2 yards :D

It must be the fantastic training and excellent breeding Judy

Please add Tyler to the card & Fletch for trials - Cheers

Glad you missed us Darc - we nearly came but it started raining, which put us off a bit  It was the thought of showering the dogs again this week!!

We will be there this week though. Judy can you put Sweep and Nibs down for racing? Ta! See you there all.

OK Darc & June. I've put them down for racing.

The good news June, is that it wasn't muddy last week. Only had to wash the dogs feet - even Trouble's and he normally gets plastered if there's mud at the pick-up :D

Moving on Friday (w00t) :teehee: , and as long as we all have somewhere to sleep i will be at racing on sunday..

Put tilly down for trilling, can we have a go at clearing her this week, as the week after i have to watch the kids do their gym comp

Appologees for the mash potatoe head spelling  :teehee:

Hi Kim - I've asked Sheila to help you out with the clearing trials.
