The Master Mc Grath Challenge has now a number of qualifiers in place all over the UK and Ireland for the final which will take place at the Irish Game Fair at SHanes Castle on the 25th June. Please not that there will NOT be a heat for the Challenge there only the final to be run over 150 yards. However there will be the normal lurcher racing over 250-300 yards as part of the 23rd All Ireland Terrier & Lurcher Championships. PLease note these championships should not be confused with any other 'tribute' events with a similar name.
The Master Mc Grath challenge is sponsored by Redmills, Barbour, Countryside Alliance Ireland, Premier Event Catering and Irish Countrysports and Country Life magazine. The winner will have a prize package worth over €1000.
We are delighted to add to the qualifying prizes two unique items - a specially commisioned good quality winners cap and a specially designed qualifiers scroll.
Still waiting for the arrival of our Master Mc Grath qualifiers caps but we now have the artwork for the Master Mc Grath qualifying certificates ( see attached)to be printed on parchment. The borders have been specially designed and drawn by hand by Ingrid Houwers, The illustration is from a photograph of Master McGrath outside Brownlow House and the Name of the owner, their dog's name and the qualifying show will be inserted in an appropriate style by my fellow director Philip Lawton who has no mean hand when it comes to caligraphy.
