OK, the lurchers got a thread, so here's one for the greyhounds that live here too
Introducing our Greyhound Gang:
Guinevere:
Our darling girl, 9 years old and our first greyhound, and she suits her dignified name! She came from Sheya rescue in 2003, having been plucked from death row at Manchester pound. Guin, along with her kennel mates, had been abandoned when her owner did a moonlight flit. Guine is a nervous girl, she was terrified of the dark when she first came here, but her confidence has grown incredibly. She is still absolutely terrifed of thunder, shooting, loud bangs etc.
Amber:
A delicate, frail little girlie who was dumped at 10yrs old once she was no longer any good for breeding. She came in last February and wasn't expected to last long but bless her, she proved everyone wrong and I adore her. Amber has had some medical problems and we nearly lost her on the table when she had to have an emergency spay (start of pyometra). She's recently had a tumour removed from her mouth which thankfully proved to be benign.
Amber gets wobblier by the week but whatever time she has left she'll spend in comfort and surrounded by love.
Lady:
Sweet little 4 yr old girlie, Lady was rehomed last year but returned a few weeks later as she didn't settle in her new home. She is a very insecure little soul and her time away destroyed the little confidence she'd buult up. It took months to settle her again and she's now so strongly bonded to me that she's here to stay. Lady adores me, and I must admit the feeling is mutual! She's a bit of a nutcase too... we're well suited!
Red:
Red is now 11 years old and came to us last year her owner decided that she could no longer care for her. Red was frail, with very bad teeth and blind in one eye. Like Amber, Red has flourished here and has a new lease of life, she has to be the happiest hound I've ever met, despite her health problems. Her 'good' eye is also starting to fail but she still has perfect vision whenever a biscuit packet appears!!
and finally, our latest intake.... Merlin:
HUGE greyhound boy! He's enormous compared to the girls, a wopping 5 stone!! and has the cutest pair of ears for a greyhound! Merlin has spent the better part of the last year in some rather unpleasant kennels and we took him out as a favour to another rescue. Merlin is a big soft pudding, a real softie unless you're small and furry  He's 4 1/2 yrs old and looking for a home to call his own now
I'll post the whuppety girls later
edited to post a better pic of Red!
