it will allways be like this IMO, there's a bad atmosphere at race meeting when certain people attend them.

ther's only one way to stop it and get back to normal . :- "

we all love this sport we are all in it together and that means all the people you see are like you they like the same hobbie or sport so you should try and get to know them better i know there can be some arguements ect because life is not perfect.

its all fun stuff dog racing is im sure you all enjoy it going out talking to different people and meeting some new friends, party, socialize and give your dogs the times of there lives, you dont even need a dog to go there you can go and watch and join in the fun im sure wee would all like new people in the sport because there arnt very many whippet racers about now compared to how my dad and uncle George say there was back a couple of years ago. i think it would be funner if more people went so if you would like to come feel free thats what i say new people are welcome you can always try something new something you ne3ver thought you might not like.

Well thats nicely put together i must admit, from a youngster, well said, us oldies should take a leaf out your book young lady,

The best way to get on and look to the future on k9 is to just ignore the posts by people causing trouble - it's the same people who bite and are just adding cole to the fire and get reeled in every time.

Anyway all the best to everyone, i don't think there's a bad atmosphere at all, in fact i think this year has had some of the best atmosphere's on tracks i've known in racing. There are some absolutely brilliant people in racing, there are some excellent dogs knocking about and i for one cannot wait for the opens to kick off again next year.

Good luck to all for 2007 :luck:

I hear what you are saying Chris and i don't mind admitting i can not just sit back and laugh at some of the post that certain individuals make in here, like other members can.( i should learn to count to 10 )

This is a debate board which i feel is a good thing, if members in whippet racing don't like whats happening at some point in there sport they should be able to discuss them, some topics may get a little heated from time to time but thats called

freedom of speech, i must say i would prefer someone told me what they were thinking (if i had said or done anything to upset them) on k9 or to my face rather than behind my back.

I personally think that since Yvonne started whippet racing she has caused more harm to the sport than good, but thats my opinion ...It seemed to start with the Jill Hardy saga ( sorry Jill no offense meant just what i believe ) and has spiraled out of control since. Only a few months ago when a couple of the NNWRF committee had to go to the court mediator to try and receive our members goods back from Yvonne and Tony she was sniggering and laughing the mediator guy had to ask her to leave the room and wondered weather she though it was a joke, hear the same type of thing went on at the latest reps meeting, baffles me how Yvonne is a rep i don't think this is workable at all.

Some members might think its just me having a problem with Yvonne and Tony, well its not, if for one moment i thought Yvonne and Tony was in the right i would stand by them .

It only took the old fed committee to stand by what they announced and let a new committee get on and run the nwrf for its members ( not going to add whats gone on as we are all sick of hearing about it now )

We never had all this fighting and arguing 10 or so years ago, we had the normal banter now and then which looking back normally turned into a laugh or the people involved would end up having a few drinks together in the pub, a 1st class for instance has to be swallownest this year four meetings were held there, the said two were only allowed at one of them and there was an incident which one of them deliberately caused, this could of quite easily got out of control which may of ended up with the loss of yet another venue ( i don't need to elaborate into what went on i saw this on someone camera phone)

I souly do believe that john gill has hit the nail on the head until these individuals either take the hint and stop racing or get banned from every organization or club there will always be trouble.

I do think the sports on the up again and thank god for that the last few opens i have been to have been superb

Well said Denise you couldnt have put it better.

There definately is a bad atmosphere when these two individuals are on the field. I wish i could ignore them & get on with my racing but after what they have done to whippet racing it is impossible. Whippet racing will never be the same while these two are still racing, they have done too much damage to the sport that we love. They have once again got away with bringing the sport into disripute with this latest episode by the presence of fictisious witnesses, who would lie to get them in the clear.

Certain people seem intent on helping these two to ruin whippet racing beyond repair. i.e. why was one allowed to go on a Bwra. commitee & the other allowed to put up for Vice President, after what they have done.

Near enough word for what what I was going to put before I had to get back to work.

As a newcomer even I can see that the fact folk repond to these incitements merely escalates the situation. What you've got to remember is every time you reply you bump their post up, your giving them the attention they need but also your bringing these posts to the attention of newcomers who would of otherwise ignored it.

If your not strong enough to do this then block them, it takes 2 to have an argument and neither party looks attractive at the time so your really not doing yourself (or the sport) any favours either.

As Vicky and Kate said the scene trackside has been brilliant, events have been well organised and the atmosphere fantastic. This is what will keep racing alive

I wish everyone all the best for 2007 :luck:

Wild Whippies, These people do not get reeled in, they are so incensed by certain individuals who have tried to ruin the sport. Some people can forgive & forget but others can not.

I dont think you know the full facts.

I have to disagree a little there with Vicky and Jackie (w00t) i think post like this should be kept alive, why would newcomers and also our older members not be aware of whats is or have gone on.

I can also say i have race whippets for 30 years now and as a member i used to never get involved in any thing , like most members i was happy just to go along and race my dog and i enjoyed the sport more for it...i think up until 15 years ago i never even knew who was on what committee etc and wasn't bothered either, its really only been the past few years i have had to get involved when certain people started been power crazy and banning some good people in our sport.

Sorry if you think my comments are wrong but i can only let you know how i feel, I would love nothing more than to reverse time and go back to how it used to be, so until someone invents a time machine your stuck with my beliefs. :- "

Sorry John I should of added my name (Jac) I've spoken to you a few times this year and I have heard many folk say they have the upmost respect for you.

Your quite right as I wasn't there at the time I probably don't know the full facts but I have questioned many about what went on and I have trawled through a lot of old threads on here but I appreciate some of this information could be biased or false.

The way I see the current situation, the only way these folk are getting any attention is on here from the safety of their PC and to be honest I hate seeing people I have respect for being incensed by these people and futhermore I can't help feeling that these inciteful people are getting amusement from it.

There are solutions to this but unfortunately they're not easily achievable, I agree though that it would be impossible to expect people to forgive and forget.

We love the holiday's away in the caravan. Even if it's just to Kirkcaldy for the Derby, the kids love it :D . I hate to travel when it's windy now (almost got blown over towing the caravan ) but it's worth the hours sat in the car when you get to the track and set up. It's nice to see your friends who we have not seen over the winter and have a good natter. I also like to club race my lot, and the club is the heart of it all, thats where the pups start to school and race. Where you learn and meet other whippet racers.

I have been racing for over 20 years, I have a pup so will be still racing for the next 5 at least.

Well said - quite agree - lets get on with enjoying the sport and encouraging newcomers and hopefully keeping the people already in the sport cos at the moment we hear of so many people being disheartened for one reason or another and leaving the sport that you do begin to wonder how much longer it will carry on.

All i can say to Kate is I remember feeling as passionate about whippet racing when i was your age as you obviously are now (and before any comment i know i've been racing a few years but the memory hasnt quite gone) - and you are spot on with your analysis of racing it can and should be all of the things you have said and with someone like you promoting it in the way you just have i'm sure it will survive and lets hope the numbers of people and dogs take an upward spiral again to the times like your dad and uncle George remember (ok me too just - :- " )

:luck: EVERYONE :)

I think one of the main things is the way Tony and Yvonne withheld members property and money ,even after going through court mediation we are still have problems retrieving it all.

Its okay people saying they are sick of hearing about it, people should be reminded about what happened all the time.

They have conned so many people while they where on the nwrf committee who's to say thousands isn't missing, they in my eyes are like all the other con men out there you hear about every day, stealing of little old Granny's (its no different)

and as John Noble has pointed out

Certain people seem intent on helping these two to ruin whippet racing beyond repair. i.e. why was one allowed to go on a Bwra. committee & the other allowed to put up for Vice President, after what they have done.
One can only wonder why
