It is now the 30th day of April and I am still waiting for my Whippet Biennial to arrive. Everyone I know in North America except me has theirs and I can only conclude it was a) never sent or b) sent and lost. I have three pages of adverts in the Biennial, have a full collection of them from the start and I WANT MY BIENNIAL!

Can someone out there give me an email or telephone contact in England that I can call to get the Biennial I am owed winging its way to me here in Canada?

I would be forever appreciative. :)

T hanks so much for the fast help! I have already written Lucinda Aldrich-Blake at the email address that was provided to me to ask for her assistance in getting a copy! I'm really appreciative. One of the dogs featured in our adverts is Eng.&Cdn.Ch. Nevedith Ceefa Ceely. I am clipping a photo taken earlier this month in my bedroom featuring Ceely and two of her sons, born 31st of October. Avalonia Trick or Treat (Tricky) is staying with us, while Avalonia Hocus Pocus (Tristan) is moving to Sweden once his pet passport stuff and rabies antibodies testing is complete. Again, thanks for everything!

She is beautiful Lanny, she seems to have grown into sleek elegant maturity with you, and her puppies have that look about them too.

what lovely whippys you have   any more photos???

Thanks for both your lovely comments. Ceely is a Rare Rogue daughter and a repeat of the Veefa litter that produced the Whippet Centennary winner, Veefa Vanity. The Newtons still have her sister, Ceefa Ceeda, whom I saw, and loved last October when I was over for Midland Whippet Club and Driffield.

We bred Ceely to Ch. Avalonia Wotta Jesta, a son of Eng.Ch. Nevedith Justa Jesta x Cdn.Ch. Nevedith Wotta Wispa (a Rare Rogue daughter) and the dog that has become our most important stud dog now that we have retired Ch. Nevedith Local Lancer (in my view still the best son Jesta ever produced and lord knows I love Empra and the the two other Jesta sons we own). Predictably we got what we wanted... dogs of Ceely and Rogue's quality in a litter so heartbreakingly difficult to pick we ran on 6 of the pups in the litter of 8 for 5 months before picking a male and female for ourselves. We kept a white bitch, but I can tell you any of the bitches were exceptional and two went to show homes in the USA as soon as they were available after we made our pick. The boys we placed are local and at least one will be shown. It is one thing to have pretty puppies at 8 weeks -- aren't all pups at 8 weeks adorable? -- but another to watch them grow up and mature and realize you have a houseful of superbly conformed treasures that reflect the very tight linebreeding that produced them. We expect to repeat this litter because there was not a dog in it that we wouldn't proudly show world wide.

I am clipping a group photo of 5 of the pups (only the white one -- Avalonia Ghostly Mostly -- is a female, the other four are males) taken when they were 5 months old, and I will submit in a second post a photo taken in early April of the boy that takes my heart daily - Avalonia Trick or Treat. Tricky so reminds me of my previous favourite whom I bred - Cdn.Ch. Glastonbury Victoria n' Albert, a son of Multi Ch. Nevedith Up Town Guy out of a half American/half English bitch out of our first Nevedith whippet, N. Wood Chip.

I cannot imagine life without these wonderful dogs.

Just to correct the record, I was over for South Yorkshire in October. I have twice been at the Midland Whippet Club champ show, but not this year!

Maybe Lucinda is just like Santa - "She knows if you've been bad or good, so be good for goodness' sake".

You can be a bad boy Cartman.... ;) :D

I remember when you had Wood Chip because I wanted to use him and then blow me down if Nev went and sent you Lancer as well (w00t) . Local Lancer, like you, I thought to be the best dog Jesta sired and I could not believe he was gone. Or Rogue come to that!!! Ive spent most of the last 25 years or so trying to use these dogs before they vanish!!

Ghostly mostly looks adorable

Next time you come over do let me know and we can have a chat about all the dogs I missed. I did catch N Xray :sweating:

We have relied on Nevedith lines as our principal line, with an outcross to select Sporting Field from the USA for the past 23 years. Lancer is still hale and hearty, now turned 11 and in so doing outliving, I believe, the whole of the double J litter including his sire, and that of the double M repeat litter as well. We have two Lancer sons going to debut in the show rings this year -- stunning boys, both just 20 inches tall (short for the American judges, but so nice over here to show them what a correct whippet should look like).

At home now we have Cdn.Ch. Nevedith Local Lancer who finished out at 19.75 inches but always looked bigger here because of his wonderful length of body over loin and his depth of brisket... stunning dog still at 11, Eng.Cdn.Ch. Nevedith Ceefa Ceely, Cdn.Ch. Nevedith Ayfa Aylestorm, and Cdn.Ch. Nevedith Wotta Wispa (Rogue daughter), and Cdn.Ch. Boxing Helena's Art Lover of Nevedith (Jesta son who was BPIS at the Belgian whippet centennary a couple of years ago).

My beloved Wood Chip is gone and so is Nevedith Evening Dusk out of the bitch I still think of as the best Nevedith bitch ever, Ch. Huntress of Nevedith, but we have her granddaughter, a solid blue brindle who Edith saw as a puppy and delighted in calling "little Tress". I still rue the loss of the one that got away -- Empra, whom I photographed extensively last Fall because I so adored him. But Lancer is related to almost everyone we have bred in the past decade, and Jesta's son, Avalonia Wotta Jesta, bred out of Wotta Wispa who was owned by Pip Campbell till she became ill and let us have her and Nev bred her and shipped her to us, is now our principal stud dog.

I shall be coming back to England this year and shall look you up! We should have talked long before this!

I still have Nevedith Evening Class, Dusks sister and apart from having only two teeth is as fit as a fiddle and still reminds me of Huntress. They were lovely bitches, I also have a bitch by Vesper x Xfa xtacy who has that look also and who I would bring to Lancer tommorow if I could!!

We had one litter out of Dusk, who died in Oct. 2003. That was by Lancer and I am clipping a picture of Avalonia Glenmorangie, the daughter living with us that reminded Edith so much of Huntress. Nenya is 9... hard to believe time passes so fast through the grey in her blue gives age away. A Ch. son of Lancer/Dusk, Fin.Ch. Avalonia Gby Glenfiddich is in Finland with Jarmo Vuorinen. We named all our pups out of Lancer after single malt Scotch whiskies because I got him shortly after he won his RCC as a pup at the Whippet Club of Scotland. Anytime you see a single malt name on any of our dogs you know it is a Lancer dog.

Really sweet, she has that calm 'grown up' peaceful look. I will have to dig out some piccy's of classy.

CRISIS OVER!!!! :) :) :)

I went out to the post box 20 minutes ago and The Biennial was in it! The packaging and contents were in perfect condition which was a HUGE surprise since I was certain that swim across the Atlantic over the past six or seven weeks would surely have left it waterlogged and bedraggled! But everything is fine and I now have reading material for tonight, and for my 10 day holiday in Florida which begins on Saturday! Boy, don't those colour pages knock your socks off???
