Sorry but I am new to all of this, I have heard several people talking about the Biennial and how good it is, but how do i get hold of one?

I still haven't got it either, I was going to buy one at crufts but there were only 2 left in the trolley and a nice man from abroad was desperate for them, so I said I'd get one another time but haven't managed it yet

There isn't a joke surely, two perfectly reasonable questions which Jax has answered in one reply as below. I don't understand Boothros' post either.

It really is an excellent issue. I have virtually all the Biennial's from the beginning (just missing issue 1 and another one from the 80s) and I think of it as far more than merely being advertisements of different breeders and their stock. In fact I think that the past and current issues Whippet Biennial will serve as an absolutely priceless record of the breed that will be consulted and used as a resource by future whippet breeders decades from now.

Each issue provides an invaluable snapshot of a point in time -- a two year period -- showing whippets being shown and bred to/from in the UK and world wide -- for the period that the issue covers.

It's book-like nature virtually ensures it will be preserved and handed down by breeders to new generations, something that typically doesn't happen with magazines and newspapers which we frequently save, then in time ultimately discard.

I am convinced that the Biennial issues of today will be available and treasured and consulted fifty or more years from now by people looking to see and assess the status of the breed at an earlier point in time, viz its status in the time in which they live. It behooves us all to represent our breed well by sharing not just with the present, but with those coming along in the future, exactly what our breed looked like in this piece of time that we inhabit.
