8) GLORIOUS and the phone didn't ring once! Lots of Austin for Rae. Starting with Austin enjoying a roll in the remnants of a lawn ...! a2.jpg

:- " You know, after about 18months or so the pain begins to lessen...then you can teach them to fetch and carry (she fetches my dropped paintbrushes) and when you're bored you can do Oragami with them....... (w00t)

That gives me such hope!

I feel so guilty - I know fostering is supposed to end in us keeping the dog because we love it so, but he just doesn't fit in with our two. He has to be caged when we are not there, not because I think he'd wreck the house but because he and Austin fight so badly sometimes. I feel guilty because Maisie is evidently miserable about him being there and the time I'd usually be spending with Austin training and playing with him is spent on the interloper. It makes it really hard to feel comfortable with him when I know he's compromising the quality of life of my own dogs. :(

Austin  :*

Broadband is down today but it was worth the wait on dail up to see the Austin pictures :D

Dont feel bad about hte lab ILKC - what woul dhave happened to him if you hadn't fostered him? You are making sure he is going to get a good home and he can't really ask any more of you than that. In the mean time he is being well fed, exercised and looked after. We done to you for taking him on I say. Austin & Maisie will forgive you as soon as 'IT' has gone

Sorry :( I've realised this and my other stupid post don't help matters at all. I didn't mean to be frivolous but I did go to hell and back with our lab and love her to bits now. But my OH works her otherwise I do think I would find it very hard to manage her on my own. I didn't mean to make you feel bad :( :(

Don't be daft! I'm just feeling melancholy of late - you post really DID give me hope - that if I still haven't found somewhere for him in 18 months at least I might like him a bit more!

I didn't realise just HOW wonderful my lazy lurchers are  . Having said that, Austin was a total :clown: fruit loop when I first met him and between moving somewhere where he gets better walks and stimulation and living with Maisie (queen of serene) he's learned to chill a bit. Maybe the puppy'll do likewise - I guess I'm expecting a lot in a short time

OH does love him but I just have NO time to devote to training him and as a result he's an arse in the house and so I start to dislike him and the circle perpetuates ... :( OK I'll stop whingeing now! :- " :b
