Poor Toddy was playing with his best friend when the managed to run over the sheer flood control barrier. It is a rocky mesh affair with 2 x 5ft drops.

He has minor scrapes which are all Ok and no bones are broken, he was just a bit shocked. He was running around again 5 minutes later. He has however grazed his 'gentlemans pouch' in two places (to put it politely :b ) . He does not seem too bothered and I have given him some Metacalm to help incase of inflamation or pain. His urine looks clear of any blood and he had no problems emptying his bladder. Should I take him to the vets to have him checked out?

No, just keep on eye on it . not literally of course

but i dont think its any thing to fuss about

aww, poor Toddy, but gentleman's pouch (w00t)

Poor Toddy :( He should be ok... Worth keeping an eye on, though. ;)

If it makes Toddy feel better you can tell him that Alfie once ended up straddled across an electric fence and shocked himself on his willy- poor Alfie, we didnt know he could jump so high  (w00t)

Thanks for the advice. My last dog was neutered and I have always had bitches otherwise so I was not sure. I know that things (Testes to keep NOISE happy) can rupture etc but

I am not sure of the signs (other than Toddy would probably be howling). He is a VERY LUCKY dog. He could easily have broken several legs where he fell or ended up in the river which was very fast flowing after the heavy rain in the afternoon. :luck: :luck: :luck:

I would just have a look at it 3 or 4 times a day . Looking for any signs of swelling , redness etc you should soon know if there is anything wrong if he starts licking at it constantly :)

Poor boy :huggles:

no no, don't change the term for me, I Love It! can't wait to use my vocabulary!

Sounds like he's very brave about it! I that was a man you wouldn't hear the end of it for weeks!

and gentlemans pouch  thts the best new word I've heard in ages!!!
