We have had our Great Dane Puppy since she was 11 weeks and she has been very difficult to toilet train, our other dog bullmastiff is pretty much toilet trained now and he is only a month apart, She knows she has to pee outside and she does. But she still pees inside straight after going for a long walk and pees numerous times, She runs away straight after peeing. it's getting very hard to work out she can pee outside 4 times but then pee inside half an hour later inside, She doesn't show any signs of needing to go she just goes! I'd really like to get some tips off you guys and maybe some people with experience with danes!

Cheers,

Kyle!

Hi Kyle

Have you had her checked over by your vet to rule out any physical problems with her bladder? Dane pups normally benefit from their larger bladder than most puppies and urinate less than smaller dogs, not more.

Did you crate train her? Using a crate is recommended as a really big help for toilet training because most dogs will resist going to the loo in their own bed so therefore gain continence faster.

You didn't mention how old she is, and it's also worth mentioning that no two dogs are identical in training, so if she still is quite young you may need to keep on keeping on for a while longer yet. Try not to get frustrated with her :)
